Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

Has anyone heard whether the club/Pascoe are going to defend the NRLS accusations, thought there would be some info by now

I assume they'll probably take the full month to pull together as much info as they can before executing the defence.

Speaking of which, grubby play by greenturd to do this over holiday season. Pascoe may not have had full access to his lawyer or others needed.

I suspect it was less likely about that and rather getting the negative crap out in the open before Christmas before he took off and wasn't answerable to anyone while on leave. Probably thinks the heat will ease off him when he returns and the game can somewhat the new year without new calamity.

More likely it was just handed down when the findings were concluded.

They're preparing a legal defence - not the type of thing that is usually disclosed to the public.

Good to hear, I hope we make the public aware of how idiotic the morons are that are cruelling the game, would like to see the roosters salary cap exposed, but that won't happen because they are not cheating according to these morons :bash

Cam Smith signed two more years with storm. I'd like for the nrl to have another look into the so called testimonial game.

Is that his previous one, or the one with Cooper Cronk next year?

Toddles will say its all ok and above board

They already have.

I thought I read in that interview Todd did before he scarpered for Christmas that they would look at the testimony games in the future, and maybe not do them as they aren't entirely fair. That's what I got from what was written. Like he was admitting it was a bit of a mistake on having them salary cap-free. It's a bit late though. And there's no attempt to redress them. Just an example of more bias.

I think they approved the game assuming that it was both of their last years in the game, Cam Smith most likely never stated such a thing. The NRL put themselves in a bad position with their assumption so I doubt their is much they can do. I would assume that they have learnt from it and won't have these games in the future.

It should never have been allowed in the first place it was just another way for the NRL to sanction an extra cap allowance for the storm and cows.

Approval was already given for JT and Smith so there wont be a redress but hopefully they don't allow them in the future but people here will probably see that as a conspiracy as Chris Lawrance wont get one.

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy in this case but it is ineptitude at its best. How hard is this to put together:
“A club can hold a testimonial for a player under the following criteria - years at club, rep honours etc.
The amount given to said player is salary cap exempt unless the player does not retire in that season. If the player does not retire the amount given forms part of his contract in the following season.”
There - easy! Black and white and open for all clubs. That took me 30 seconds. NRL couldn’t organise a soy latte in Newtown!

I personally think there is more to all this and believe it will all come to the surface if management try to challenge the ruling. As much as I dislike greenturd why would he jepodise he's own reputation and job if the NRL didn't have significant evidence to act against us. I think we might just have to cop this on the chin and move on. I don't accept the excuse we just made a mistake and if we did well mistakes still can't go unpunished.

Even if it was a mistake we broke a rule that is in place to prevent Salary Cap cheating. I don't see how that can't be punished as clubs will just claim a mistake in the future.

That's exactly what I'm saying
