Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

NRL: all is well everyone. Easts are under the TPA cap and Wests have been penalised for a job that hasn't come to fruition yet.

So they are saying we have not disclosed $250,000 per year since 2016? So we have breached the salary cap for 2016, 2017 and 2018? That breach can only occur if if puts us over the cap for those years.

No they are saying we have offered Robbie Farah a job after football and that needs to be included in our cap, as it has not yet been included it will be included in the 2019 cap.

The breach is not about being over the cap, its for not disclosing payments.

I dont understand, what payments? Did we already make payments? And maybe I dont understand the "cap" in the context of this, are we talking different to player payments?

Yoss said bad but not catastrophic.

Losing Pascoe would be catastrophic.

Fair go! That’s for individual punters to decide. Having multiple players test positive for recreational drugs or your winger giving amateur proctologist exams - that’s catastrophic!

Haha sorry mate I didn't mean to put words in your mouth.

Losing Pascoe would be a bit ordinary though.

It would. When I was making that assessment I was more thinking about the issue itself rather than the potential repercussions for individuals.

Losing Pascoe is absolutely massive.

100% catastrophic.

I'll look at it no other way than Goulds pay back.

I do wonder where this info came from considering it has been in the public domain since 2015.

For mine Pascoe has done way too much for one stupid error to wipe him clear. Wonder if there's legal avenues that Brydens could possibly assist with…

The NRL's current mantra is "transparency."

Can someone possibly tell me the difference between what has happened with Farah and what happens when other players retire, and sit back with some cushy job at the club they just finished playing at?

If its not a Gould or someone of that nature pulling the strings this is a power move from within the club to remove Pascoe. The man must have made some tough decisions that upset the dinosaurs.

They don't tell anyone until the player retires. We tell everyone 5 years in advance..

Its mentioned in many articles, I wonder why they took so long to hit us with this?

Yeah even me and my poor memory recall this… Many articles years ago

Looks like it may be Pascoe under pressure to keep his job?

LOL that anyone would give credence to the guardian.
A leftist rag that reminds me of a 2 bob fortune teller. Tells you what it wants you to hear, then sticks out its hand for money.
_Alarmingly, the Daily Telegraph has more journalistic integrity._
I can't believe I just typed that.

Exactly. Smart clubs don't talk about fight club… or offers of post career jobs...

I don't know the publication at all but considering it quotes Pascoe on this exact issue over 3 years ago, I'd say they are probably right in this instance?
