Someone smart enough has just got to come up with an invention that Cars can not be operated while a mobile phone device is on in the Car, and also while driving phones can't be switched ON while a car motor is running .
Easy in Theory i know :unamused:

people use their phones to run music and GPS in their cars. im sure they'd be stoked.

**also, im not against quickly replying to a text at a stop light. as long as you dont forget about the light haha**

gotta admit i did the same… i keep my phone in my pocket so i dont reach for it at lights.

i've stopped it now though.. used to drive a lot a few months ago from one part of the sydney to the other (almost 5 hours a day without a clue about where the place is) and had one hand on the phone with gps running all the time. was a very very bad practice.

these days, if i have to check the gps, i keep it running on my lap or something and check it at the lights... again, not a good practice- not sure what the alternative is either though? should probably buy one of those car phone holder things

Yes you should tig. They are not expensive . Easier to see the gps too.

This pees me off so bad. You can tell who is on the phone. They are the cars that are wobbling side to side in their lane and driving around 40km/h in an 80 zone. I had 1 guy on Old Windsor rd clearly doing it with me flashing my lights and he had no idea.

People used street directories, not much different to looking at your phone or a piece of paper really.

I have the car holder thing, bought the universal one online- but i keep it in my dads car- i drive multiple cara- forget to switch it from one car to the other.

Our draught horses had computer chips

Doesn't everyone just plan the trip before you leave and if you get lost you pull over and check why you screwed up and then yell at her

Does anyone think that eating and driving is just as bad as using a phone while driving? It can be very distracting, as well, and it can really incapacitate you when you spill half the contents of a burger all over you lol. I'll be in big trouble if they outlaw eating whilst driving though, cause I spend half my life in the bloody car!

This is a pet hate of mine on the road.

To go one further about school zones, why is it people don't do the speed limit when it's in force?

Many times I have seen people speeding through zones or riding my arse while I slow down to 40\. The serial offenders are parents themselves at our local primary school. They dump the kids in the drop off bay and then hoon out in a hurry to get to work/coffee club/pilates. I'd bet if I ran over one of their precious darlings I'd be Satan himself, but they hold everyone elses kids in low regard.

Mothers coming to AND from school are some of the worst drivers around.

I totally agree CB , but the police need to have some responsibility in this

I didn't realize that the times on the school zones had changed from 2.30-4.30 in the afternoon to 2.00-4.00 whether the signs had changed or not ??

Did any one else ??

I don't think those times have been changed in NSW.

My Mrs almost hit one K Rudd and the local Federal Member at the time dropping the kids off at school walking across the car park
