PETITION LINK External Review

Not political at all mate.

The idea of a professional recruitment process is to create a criteria based on the needs of the organisation and a skills matrix of the people already involved.

I don't know what that criteria would be so naming people that I think we should have on the board is not even something that I have thought of. What is more important to me is getting the governance and structure correct. I do have an opinion I what I would like to see in the that regard but that is also irrelevant as I would prefer us to conduct a proper external review to determine what the issues are.
I dont think you are reading the room very well. I reckon there would be quite a few on here who would like to hear your thoughts on future board members no matter how irrelevant you feel they are.

Also, when did you first know that the NRL owned the Wests Tigers name and that it could never be changed back to Wests Magpies?

TIGER TAKEOVER GATHERS PACE

The push for change at the Wests Tigers is gathering momentum as a group of supporters campaigning for a full review of the club’s management prepare to meet the powerful Wests Ashfield group.

The group contacted Wests Ashfield boss and former Wests Tigers board member Simon Cook this week to update him on the petition they have kicked off, which now has more than 1100 signatures.

The petition is asking for the Tigers to be subjected to a thorough external review. At some point, it is likely to be discussed by the board of Wests Ashfield, who own a 90 per cent stake in the Tigers.

The other 10 per cent is owned by the Balmain Tigers. Wests Ashfield hold the whip hand.

They are the entity that have the power to usher in change at the Tigers – there have been recent murmurs that they may look to take sole control at some point in the future, although that has been denied by those with knowledge of the club’s operations.

The Tigers continue to labour this season and there are still issues in the background that threaten their ability to turn things around. The fact that a group of fans have been able to generate such support for their petition suggests there is a mood for change among those who fill the hill at Leichhardt Oval.

There’s an old saying that if you start listening to the fans, you’ll end up sitting with them. That said, it can’t hurt to hear their frustrations. The Tigers need all the help they can get at the moment.
There's also another old saying..."dont get fans to run your footy club."

@BZN give it a rest eh

If others are interested in cochise' thoughts they're able to ask him.... Only you it seems is doing that, relentlessly

Reading the room indeed

I'm thinking this rules being breached here

And I'm one of those "passionate and quite annoyed WT fans", but mainly because you didn't answer my previous post addressed to you.
As the main signatory to this petition, I would expect any questions concerned fans have will be answered, otherwise it could be taken that you have something to hide.
I’m sorry, what was the question?

I have to agree with others, I don't think you are reading the room, rather than cochise. Either that or you are breaching the board rules by trying to hijack this thread.

And the answer to the question you ask there has been public knowledge sine the day that the merger happened. the NRL has always owned the Wests Tigers name, so cochise would have know for a long time as it has never been a secret.

If you're interested in answering I suggest you go back and check my posts and it'll be there.
If you're not organised enough to find it, I can't help you atpit.

How about you succinctly post your unanswered questions in one post, and let cochise answer them once and for all, instead of just causing drama by making him try and jump through your hoops.

You cant be too worried about getting an answer then.

Why not just repeat the question?

The only reason we are all here is our passion and love for this club.

There is no point in anyone here venting their frustration and demanding there be changes made if they don’t get off their back side and actively do something about it.

First step is inform your self about the structure of this club and here is a link to help you:

Teams, Boards & Ownership - Western Suburbs Magpies

Information about our rugby league teams appearing in the NSW Knock-On Effect Cup and Ron Massey Cup, our relationship to the Wests Tigers, and our Ownership structure.

What I find interesting from the link above is the following:

“To be eligible to vote or sit on the Holman Barnes Group board you must be a HBG General member for 3 continuous years.

Any adult in Australia can become a Holman Barnes Group (Wests Ashfield / Croydon Sports / Markets Club) Member - Click HERE to Join or renew”

Someone that is more legally educated, could you please explain to me that if a GENERAL member, a SOCIAL member and a FINANCIAL GENERAL member are any different? as the link only gives you the option of a Social membership. The constitution states that you have to be a FINANCIAL GENERAL MEMBER to have any voting rights.

Fellow Wests Tigers family this is where we start to make a change by understanding the clubs constitution and playing the long game which it looks like is 3 years. I can’t see things getting better within 3 years the way they are going.

Here are a couple more links for those that are interested in reading up on the clubs constitution and By-Laws:

Even as a voting member of the Holman Barnes Group there is very little you can do to effect change at the Wests Tigers.

Well. You know do have say. Member or not. Dont show up to games anymore. Change will happen instantaneously if this came to fruition. Fans are the backbone of any club. It would be viral. Fans have the power. Its sad a little they don't recognize their power. They can change the club in a heartbeat. Its a pity they are not aware of their own power. Cause the farmer wants a wife.

The one simple answer to not going back to Wests Magpies is the "TIGERS BRAND" is a huge brand and a financial windfall for the WTs because it shows in the membership numbers...
The NRL would be mad to even consider dropping the "Tigers" for another brand...That is why the WESTS TIGERS was created to honour both sides of the amalgamation...
I wouldnt have a problem if the club was called Wests Magpies they would still have my support, but as many have said the NRL is a big business and big business knows where the money is made...

BZN, I’m at a loss to see how you can defend an administration that has failed for 8 years. And won 4 out of the last 29 games. If you want to sign the petition sign it. If you don’t don’t.

Don’t overcomplicate this.
Not defending the administration BAGNF05: Just trying to get answers from the petition leaders before any action takes place.
I reckon before anything like this happens, the leaders would at least have a pretty good idea of the people they would prefer to see installed in place of the current mob.
And I reckon we should be entitled to know who they have in mind before we sign the petition.
Before anybody signs to anything, we should know what the details are, otherwise we are just signing a blank piece of paper.
Letting ourselves get excited by someone saying ' let's get rid of this mob' could lead to more trouble if it's not agreeable to everyone.

This infighting between Fulton & Sheens regime is a disgrace. If Lee & Pascoe have any semblance of leadership & management skill, they need to put an end to this NOW.

This is schoolyard stuff & every minute that passes makes it seem like the powers-that-be are trying to sabotage the club we love.
