I got a "croissant loaf" the other day. Size of a loaf of bread but tasted very similar to a croissant. Delicious, but I put on 5 kilos.

Hobbo is a professional Sizzle boy , he has to ring the local Bunnings if he is going so they buy an extra 9 kilos of snags , 4 kilos of onions , 11 bottles of tomato sauce and 14 loaves of bread

Dropped in at the Travellers Rest at Gin Gin today and grabbed a scallop pie , no chorizo though

Grabbed the on line order list for anyone who might be interested …..

Clemton Park Pies…/End thread

^^ This - their party pies are nothing short of sensational. Not far behind is the Huskisson cake shop and many years ago a place in Greenacre called the Judy Lyn cake shop.

Putting humility aside, I make the best apple pies known to man from a recipe handed down by my American wife's grandmother.

Not easy to get a good steak and kidney pie these days unfortunately.

Not sure of the exact spot but an old workplace of mine was supplied for a time with pies from a bakery somewhere in Bexley… Their chicken pies tasted like the Colonel had let them in on his secret herbs and spices. We were supposed to be selling them but pretty sure I ate more than I sold.

When in Sydney visiting parents, Bread Shop on Cox's Rd, North Ryde, has nice Curry Pies.
For me in a pie, the more curry the better.

This is on my way to work, definitely going to make a stop…

I'd be guessing the pie shop in Bexley you might be thinking of is Clemton Park cake shop. Real nice pies, but superb sausage rolls !!
Brookvale pies has always had delicious pies . . . . new owners a couple of years ago, don't know if they are as good as the previous owners.
Pie in the sky on the old highway from Central Coast to Sydney has nice pies and fruit pies too.
If $6 gourmet pies are not your thing, there is a little cake shop in Birrong that has real good pies in a wide variety all around $3.00 each.
And while I love my tomato sauce, if the pie is good enough it don't need sauce.

edit: sorry, just realised this thread is years old and most of my suggestions have already been made.
One more: . . . for a commercially prepared pie, hard to go past a Balfours pie. Their custard tarts are divine as well !
