Player Dramas in the NRL

The NRL should know what literally everyone knows....

And that is drugs are rife throughout the game.

More drug incidents than any other sport in the country it seems.

Cocaine isn't a joint or some wippit teen experiment stuff, it's a heavy substance.

They should really crack down on this.
Routine drug testing and one strike You're out rules.

It's a bad look for the game and the kids looking up to these guys.

Yep agreed. From what I’ve seen over the years, NRL players love that crap.

Saw the video, or possibly only part of it? Not too much in it… obviously doing the wrong thing but meh… young blokes will be young blokes

Similar to Nadia Bartels?

Nowhere near as damning. From what I saw no one was caught in the act, but there may be more footage I haven’t seen..?‍♂️

I'd prefer the government legalise all recreational drugs and tax them. Might help us recover a bit of the money dished out during covid.

They should be tested ASAP so if they were only there and doing no wrong they get cleared and move on , But I must agree I think drugs are very much with in the game more so than the NRL let’s on , just can’t work out why these young people would risk there well paid jobs to do this , Reece Walsh has the world at his feet and could be anything but now he is known for drugs , can’t believe it , I’m in my late fifties so I may be missing something hear

Sounds heaps safe and realistic.

Haha, as far as dancing goes Munster definitely needs to stick to football.

It's just completely normal for these guys. And... really not unusual in cashed up parts of 'normal' society either.

I dunno, maybe the it's not the worst kept secret from reading some of the responses here.

As far as testing goes, needs to be within 72 hours of use.

I'm your age too and I understand why even unemployed.... Students.... Low paid and high paid young people do this

Melbourne should boot Smith immediately. Make an example out of him before it ruins the fabric of their organisation. No player is irreplaceable and they have proven that as one goes they have the next one ready.

Dear Cheese, Please come to Wests. All if forgiven. Redemption starts at Concord.

Storm let two model players go to keep two ratbags - talent overrules. So much for culture when it comes to talent.

Storm don’t have a good culture, they’re just good at covering it up. Heard from a mate that welsh likes to get on the baggie a lot aswell, take a look at Kevin Procter when he first joined the Titans. To be honest I imagine it’s at literally every club including the tigers imo

A lot safer than buying drugs off the black market. Obviously making recreational drugs illegal doesn't stop people consuming them

Then the Government would have to dish out heaps extra cash for Mental health issues.

It'd never happen.

You're right though.

Drugs destroy your brain.
More Rehab centres would be needed too.

Always a Silly suggestion.
Legalise it !
Yeah so people can destroy their brains and health.

Yeah so people can destroy their brains and health.

It's happening....overseas.

Starting with marijuana.

Other countries are trialing lsd, mushrooms, mdma etc for people with depression and other mental health issues. With success.

Appreciate there may be more cases of mental health initially, however the government will receive billions of dollars through taxes, which they can spend on education, similar to tobacco.

Not sure how old you guys are, but when I grew up, pretty much everyone smoked cigarettes. You could even smoke in planes, trains and automobiles. Through taxes and education, barely anyone smokes these days.

Having said that vaping is on the rise.

Just my opinion.

I'm sure you are right.

There used to be a lot of mail around a high ranking Broncos player too back in day for the same thing. I do feel for some of these guys though as I’m sure there’s plenty who get tarnished with rumour of doing this or that who are innocent. No doubt there are plenty who get away with it too. It’s an issue in society, it stands to reason its a problem in League.
