And that is drugs are rife throughout the game.

More drug incidents than any other sport in the country it seems.

Cocaine isn't a joint or some wippit teen experiment stuff, it's a heavy substance.

They should really crack down on this.
Routine drug testing and one strike You're out rules.

It's a bad look for the game and the kids looking up to these guys.

I'd prefer the government legalise all recreational drugs and tax them. Might help us recover a bit of the money dished out during covid.


Then the Government would have to dish out heaps extra cash for Mental health issues.

Appreciate there may be more cases of mental health initially, however the government will receive billions of dollars through taxes, which they can spend on education, similar to tobacco.

Not sure how old you guys are, but when I grew up, pretty much everyone smoked cigarettes. You could even smoke in planes, trains and automobiles. Through taxes and education, barely anyone smokes these days.

Having said that vaping is on the rise.

Just my opinion.

A lot of deaths from drugs is due to buying from the black market. This is where they're cut with other substances etc. Your example is case and point.

What kind of punishment does this kid deserve?

It's an illegal drug at the end of the day.
Lot of people, use it recreationally when partying however this kid is in the spotlight.

Like I said, I doubt it was the first time...
I'm straight edge and very anti drug, but I'd be leaning towards mandatory education and some community services of some kind.
Keen to hear other peoples opinions.

My experience with this stuff is a bit different - if he got caught with a couple of hundred grams, well that's a marketable quantity and his career would be over. A gram for personal use, well it is considered a performance enhancing drug as its a stimulant, but he may be looking at a similar situation to Xerri and miss a couple of years...

If your employer drug tested you'll likely lose your job.
Not to mention legal ramifications.

If you fail a road side drug test you may lose your license which most people need for their job and life in general.

It's not "no big deal" at all, son.

Some players are so out of touch with the real world. Families are struggling to put food on the table and welfare organisations are overwhelmed from calls for assistance. Melbourne is one city heavily impacted. Perhaps they can all reflect on that before they do a line.
