Just finished reading some footy news this morning and its really starting to frustate me. Paul Carter signs with Souths for 2 years and remainder of this year , looks like Sika Manu may be also going there next season. Also read the Panthers are close to getting Sam Moa and Nene Mcdonald from the Roosters and the list goes on. When are we going to sign someone ? Are we in that bad of shape that we cant afford anyone ? Because if we keep trotting this same side out we have now for the next couple of years then us supporters are going to be doing it very tough. How did we get to this sorry state that we cant buy players or if we do they are reserve graders. I love the Wests Tigers with a passion and always will but this is starting to wear thin.

We've been told the clubs finances are in a mess due to past admin. Bottom line is, there's no money in the kitty at the moment to buy anyone of quality. Not that there's much quality left to sign any way, like Geo mentioned in another thread.

I think we are waiting till some players come off contract…I also assume we would be front loading contracts at the moment
We have guys like moltzen Rowe Lulia who are overpaid for reserve graders....they and a few others will likely not be retained freeing up SOME cash
I see 500+ clearing off the books and I'm wondering who is replacing it?

I don't know why they did away with the support Q&A we used to have, where we could post a bunch of questions in a single thread and the admin would collate them for the Tigers, and Tigers would periodically release a bunch of Q&As back to us.
I understand they don't want off-the-cuff questions and they need some time to prep the appropriate statements, but it would be great if social supporters like us in this forum could pitch questions to the entire Tigers structure.
They keep talking about engaging the fans, and I know the "dinner w the coaches" is a money maker, but some good old Q&A would do wonders as well.
I do concede however that when Grant Mayer was much more communicative a season or two ago, with his twitter and such, A LOT of people shot him down.

There is also the loan we took out from the NRL, which IIRC is guaranteed by being deducted from our yearly allocation from the NRL. Most club use the yearly grant to cover their salary cap. I want to see some signings as much as the next fan, though would rather nobody than a signing that doesnt move us forward quality wise. We need to break the cycle that has us in this rut to begin with.

Our recruitment Officer hasn't had to overextend himself and as far as I know involves only signing a couple of lower grade players including a back up for our halves that has never had a game in the Top grade
Yes Simona was resigned , but as far as recruiting players to the club, he may as well be moonlighting somewhere else as he certainly hasn't been overworked here.
Lastly , as far as our younger players being taught defence, the answer to that is there for everyone to see for themselves.
Their defence has not improved at all, and quite honestly they are not the only players in the team who also haven't improved.
There is no evidence that there's been any significant improvement, in reality we are no better than we were with Potter. , except that we have improved our injury numbers on last year. I'm hoping that we do show an improvement this week , but have no confidence that we will
I just wonder how you come to the conclusion that we are moving in the right direction, as you and the rest of us have no idea of what Taylor is doing with this team, and the only way we have to judge is on results
It doesn't take a genius to see that we need new players in the team , and some that are there are not up to this level. But for various reasons we are stuck with them, but there is no doubt that we are now a worse team than we were at the start of the season , largely due to Taylorball
