We are heading in the right direction….
All about patience and perseverance as the new foundations are being laid in 2015
What makes you so sure of that
New coach, new Board, new trainers, new recruitment officer, actually training our youngsters in defence, ( they are not taught this in NYC ).
How is that for a start?
Speaking of NYC I liked the idea when it first started up but now I would prefer to see reserve grade play with a mixture of older experienced players and young players. The mixture of up and comers and older more experienced would compliment each other and provide more of a contest. At the moment the U20s is a try fest with poor defence.
Just the fact that we have a new Coach, a new board and recruitment officer, means nothing unless something shows a real improvement on the field or elsewhere.
Nothing that JT has done so far, has transferred in a positive way to the field. , and a lot of respected commentators seem to be coming to the conclusions in the last few weeks , that he is not improving our team or players , and in fact last week Gus ( who whether you like him or hate him, is one of the best brains in the game) was referring to our halves being over coached, and going backwards,
Nothing that the Board has done has had positive effect on the field, in fact, letting go of Austin, Koroibete and Thompson ( for whatever reasons) has actually dropped our overall strength. But to be fair to them we "may " have improved our bottom line. None of us would know whether that is , or is not the case , as we apparently can't afford anyone anyway.
Probably the Main thing the Board has done is stopped the infighting that was going on at that level before. But the lack of football knowledge at Board level is a worry.
Our recruitment Officer hasn't had to overextend himself and as far as I know involves only signing a couple of lower grade players including a back up for our halves that has never had a game in the Top grade
Yes Simona was resigned , but as far as recruiting players to the club, he may as well be moonlighting somewhere else as he certainly hasn't been overworked here.
Lastly , as far as our younger players being taught defence, the answer to that is there for everyone to see for themselves.
Their defence has not improved at all, and quite honestly they are not the only players in the team who also haven't improved.
There is no evidence that there's been any significant improvement, in reality we are no better than we were with Potter. , except that we have improved our injury numbers on last year. I'm hoping that we do show an improvement this week , but have no confidence that we will
I just wonder how you come to the conclusion that we are moving in the right direction, as you and the rest of us have no idea of what Taylor is doing with this team, and the only way we have to judge is on results
It doesn't take a genius to see that we need new players in the team , and some that are there are not up to this level. But for various reasons we are stuck with them, but there is no doubt that we are now a worse team than we were at the start of the season , largely due to Taylorball
