It all comes back to our kicking game, both in defence and attack it is poor. Improve the kicking game and we will be competive.

I have a funny feeling Brook's hammys are restricting his long defensive kicking game and there is nobody else capable of doing that role

For next year, Reynolds has a good long kicking game, as well as a great kick chase.

Was thinking the same, but of course your defensive kicking game all comes off the back of the meters your able to eat up comping out of your danger zone. In fact the good sides seem to be always seem in a position to put up a attacking kick on the 5th because of their go forward. Next year you would think we will not lack meter eaters

Reynolds having a long kicking game doesn't remedy Brooks short kicking deficiencies. Brooks generally has a decent long kicking game.

For sure, I don't recall many effective short kicks or us earning a repeat set from a short kick for some time.

MMc was poor today, probably his worst showing. Can't write him off, he's done well this year to cement a spot and play fairly consistent footy. Considering he's a player we picked up as a backup, on backup money, he's been really good value.

A couple of points:
- Some of Hooths tackle attempts yeserday were very ordinary. It looked like he maybe had a shoulder problem.
- Taylor controls the ruck well, but appears more vulnerable to misses when defending on the edge
- Overall the forward yardage was poor
- Twal looks the goods and can play more minutes
- the bench rotation was ordinary

Thought the kicking game let us down.
And whomever is the better defender out of those on the extended bench should have been there instead of JLJ - surely would have helped our D.
When Penrith pushed themselves at about the 50th minute mark, we just couldn't go with them.
They're at a level above us, simple as that. I never thought we'd win it and apart from the disappointing aspects that have been mentioned here, there were too many things had to go our way for us to be in with a chance.

I see it as we have the same cattle we had 6 months ago however you can see the effort and energy is there. We just dont have the talent. We will always be prone to a few mistackles and poor chooces its just how critical they are as to whether we are amongest it or not
