Lachlan Coote is still first choice fullback. The next contract Flash signs will be the big one no matter who it's with. He's 28, should have played origin last year if it weren't for his ACL injury, he's a sharpshooter and is a good fullback despite Coote displacing him from that position.

He's a better fullback than Coote. I think Coote is over-rated myself

Coote is massively overrated.

Coote was clearly the best player in the age group, dominated the first year of NYC, he was first to NRL, and has done well despite being injured pretty much the whole time since he came in. Finally he will be fully fit and Im sure will show everyone how good he is this year.
I find it strange you guys dont rate him TBH.

That said I also think Flash is amazing, id take either of them in a heartbeat.

Coote is a speed-hump. A fast, flashy speed-hump. He's Fast. That's about it.

Flash can tackle - he's a got a fantastic footy brain, can take a game by the scruff of its neck, and has a cool head in tense situations. He also kicks goals, is a potential captain, and a shoe in for State of Origin if he finds the form he was finding before his injury last year. Plus he also has a turn of speed.

Its a no-brainer who I would pick.

I hope he thinks he is good enough… This is one of the biggest steps in any players career and being confident in your ability is usualy the best ingredient. He is playing in one of the toughest positions on the field, and debut or not, he will need to direct/demand the experienced boys do as he says in defence. In attack, he will be required to take risks and hope they come off.

Remember Karmichael Hunt on Debut? He only survived his first year of NRL by being over-confident. The key to ensuring it doesnt go to his head and become a problem are the people the Club puts around him.

THE Broncos have taken a big step toward bolstering the club's long-term playing ranks by re-signing five young stars, headed by Test winger Jharal Yow Yeh.

Four of the five, Yow Yeh, Alex Glenn, Andrew McCullough and Ben Hunt, played in the Broncos' 2008 Toyota Cup Under20 team that was unluckily beaten in the grand final.

The fifth, Dave Hala, came through the Broncos' development system.

Broncos' chief executive Paul White and head coach Anthony Griffin will announce the re-signings today.

"We live in a professional world in the NRL but it is wonderful when you can make announcements like this that reflect loyalty to the club," White said.

"These players are a large part of the core of the talent we have developed, and that we believe will take us into the next chapter of success for the Broncos."

Griffin, who coached the "Fab Five" through the Broncos' under-20s, said the club had been working on the members of this group for many years.

"We are very happy to be able to sign these players who have developed through our system from juniors to second-tier players to NRL standard, and on to Test honours already in a couple of cases," he said.

"The club has worked hard to give these guys the opportunity to play NRL football and they have proven their ability to compete in the best rugby league competition in the world."

Yow Yeh, whose 2011 season included his Test debut for the Kangaroos and first Origin jersey for Queensland, has signed a three-year extension until the end of 2015, as have Glenn and McCullough.

Hala's contract has been extended to the end of 2014, while Hunt has signed a one-year extension.

Ben Hunt won the Dally M (equiv) for the NYC in the initial year , I have thought at some stage he would become a good NRL player.
I wonder if the McCullogh extension kills the cam smith rumour??

Wouldnt sign him on a playing contract but I wonder if he might return to Wests Tigers in a playing/mentoring role.

i dont mind the Broncoes this year, i love their kids. They will miss Lockyer, but they have half a dozen players on the rise that will all be a bit better, which combined might make up for some of the locky factor.
