Can't believe Abbott lasted this long , Turnbull will become the people's darling even though he will battle harder against his own over the next 18 months

Finally someone with a financial brain as leader , best since Paul Keating

"Turnbull will become the people's darling"
How will he do that?
Privileged, silver spoon boy waiting for the right moment to knock off his boss.
I think his true colours will be seen by all in the not too distant future…I think Mal's flown under the radar for a long time.

Does anyone give Abbott a snowballs chance in hell?

Not when no one's even prepared to come out and run on Abbotts 'Deputy tickets

Look at the poll's Ink ,Turnbull is very popular with middle of the road Australians imo

Turnbull will destroy Labour and Shorten at the next election

The people want and need someone with a financial background

Happy, the far right of the Liberal Party hate Turnbull more than they do Shorten. He will never be acceptable to them. Besides Abbott would call an election and take down the Government rather than be rolled.

Dude we have a vote going on as we speak and will know within the hour

Abbott to win any spill… The Liberal Powerbrokers don't want a spill as the Coalition relies on Nationals support.

Any change of leadership should be taken to the next election, and the Australian People will decide.

Turnbull will be required to resign after tonight if he doesnt win. Said day for the LNP!

59-41 Turnbull

The LNP will get killed at the next election with Abbott as leader

And they know it. Last thing they want is to leave it too late like Labor did when they canned Gillard. Turnball needs time to put his stamp on things.

He is the best candidate out there by a country mile

Like comparing Tedesco to the next best fullback option we have at the club

It can't be a close win Watto either way or the LNP will get torn apart

If someone can get a 10 vote plus majority they will be fine

Morrison is crucial in all this and although he may vote Abbott , but his followers will vote Turnbull

It will be at least 55-45 TW

Julie Bishop and Sinodinos are in the Turnbull camp. That's enough to suggest Abbott is done. And now Cory Bernardi has thrown his support behind Abbott. That's a death knell

Thankfully 2 years ago the Australian public elected an adult government so we could avoid this ongoing internal bickering.

If the LNP carry Abbott to the next election, they will be in the electoral wilderness for two terms.

Abbott has been nothing short of an embarrassment to this country. We've had the yanks laughing at us, and they elected Dubya as president.

Australians are largely socially progressive now and Abbott misjudged the climate to run on the back of economic reform (which he's abjectly failed at anyway,) and try to implement social conservatism at the same time.
