We have a Prime Minister and his representative in Gaejtens obfuscating again, basically lying to us and particularly the Australian women amongst us, whilst putting forward and hiding behind both an AFP investigation and a defamation suit to shield them from scrutiny.
Hiding behind an AFP investigation?
If it is true (was stated in parliament) that the AFP told them that the parliamentary inquiry could jeopardise the police investigation, what choice did they have other than to suspend the paliamentary investigation?
The implication is that the parliamentary investigation should proceed and potentially cost a Lib politician their job, but the alleged rapist gets off?
This is my problem with this whole case, it seems to be so specifically politically driven. IMO the number one thing is the bloke that did this gets what he deserves.
It only remains so political because the close second thing is this lying disgraceful Prime Minister and the office he directs is yet to be fully exposed because of cover up upon cover up.
We are already paying to cover up their lies and a defamation case is now in play to assist them and it must stop.
That may all be 100% correct, but if the AFP instructs them that the parliamentary inquiry will jeopardise the criminal investigation, what choice would they have other than to suspend the parliamentary inquiry?
If they had said that, then possibly, but they didn't and it was Gaejtens decision.
It was stated in a senate hearing by Gaetjens.

edit: Senates hearing not parliament
As it was stated by the AFP in the adjoining hearings the he was not asked to stop the inquiry.
