Doesn't matter what Labor do. They are gone either way unless Abbot kills someone. Rudd has fist all chance of becoming leader again, the party hate him… and with good reason. He was a micro-managing, egotitical w@nker. As for Turnbull, he has the same chance. The bloke talks well and has shown great business accumen, but is soft as puppy poo and would make a poor leader. He would do only what was popular.

Agree 100% with you Happy.

As much as I love Julia _I doubt very much if she can win the next election too many factions against her including sections of the media.\
\
Time for Ruddy to leave the backbenches and make another run for leader.\
\
In case anybody's wondering I really don't have Julia's pictures on my walls…....it's Granny Clampets from the Beverly Hillbillies._

_Trouble is Kevvy's tried this already and failed :nerd: Can't see him winning another attempt either. The general public may prefer him as leader, but the Labor Party doesn't. Btw, I love Granny Clampet, HT!_

_Depends on your definition of fail. Beat one of the longest serving PMs in the only election he's contested. Some of the big players in the Gillard challenge are gone now and the backbench is starting to get nervous. Gillard is probably one more bad poll from getting rolled.\
\
Happy - I don't see the Libs ditching Abbott. It removes one of their great lines of attack on the ALP. They can't play on the leadership changes if they basically do the same thing. In any case Turnbull has the same basic issue Rudd has - his popularity in the electorate doesn't translate into party room votes. Beside if Turnbull is looking to position himself he's doing it extremely quietly. I just don't see it happening._

Yeah there appears to be a dearth of good leaders in both parties at present. None of the ones I see talking make me think he/she would make a great PM. The foregone conclusion that we're gonna end up with Abbott is making me feel quite ill. All the people pushing his barrow now, simply because they hate Gillard, will live to regret it when he gets in, I reckon. I know I will.

Meanwhile in my neck of the woods the local Libs are revolting against their candidate for Robertson even before the election gets warmed up.

Keating took two 'stabs' at Hawke before he managed to roll him, Rudd will likely get another chance.

The media will not let it not happen. Every bad poll the headlines scream 'Gillard under pressure' and every good poll they scream 'Gillard under slightly less pressure'. Anything other than talking about policy.

It might improve Labor's chances but it gives the Libs an easy line of attack, Labor's spent most of last year bucketing on Rudd themselves, let alone the Opposition doing so.

From where I sit, there isn't a lot wrong with Abbott being PM, it won't ruin my life in any huge way. That is, besides a few minor things: He is an imbecile… and he will destroy a few useful reforms, namely the NBN and carbon pricing.

Tell me all about it when they start doing it to prime ministers.

Give it a year or two and we'll see.
But yeah the Liberal Party never tries to remove a sitting PM. Just ask Malcolm Fraser or John Gorton…

Does anyone else think that Tony Abbott looks like a lizard? You know, like one of those lizard people they reckon are infiltrating humanity?

I'll be glad to hopefully see the back of that bogan Kath Day-Night wannabe. Heard her interviewed by Chris Smith a couple weeks back when she was in Western Sydney and when he asked one too many questions about the leadership battle, under her breath he uttered ''uhh boring''. Thats the kind of professional leader we have running our country? beat it Kath
