Positive messages

I don’t think anyone needs to say a thing to this lot.
You looks at API, Klemmer and Bateman towards the end of the games and they are spent. If the rest of the guys lift to that effort standards, they’d be smashing teams.

I remember seeing Api towards the back end of the last 4 games and he looked like a boxer about to hit the canvas.

There are 17 players who need to work at that standard to get positive outcomes. Not just a few.

Every thread is negative at the moment, I'm sure players read socials, and possibly here and they are playing like a frustrated and demoralised group.

If you were hired to give a motivational speech to the squad on game day, what would you say?

@hobbo1 you aren't allowed to post here (love ya mate).

My message would be simple.

You are all good enough, go forward as a group in attack and defence, back each other and keep your heads up. Beat parra so I can wear my Tigers jersey on church street and xxxx a xxxxxxx xxxxx xxx on their flag.
What makes you think these players are capable of understanding anything ?
They can’t even repeat their training instructions on game days.

To quote, with a bit of editing:

I don’t know what to say, really. A fork on the road to the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Now either we heal as a team or we’re gonna crumble, inch by inch, play by play, 'til we’re finished.

We’re in hell right now, gentlemen, believe me. And, we can stay here -- get the shit kicked out of us -- or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell one inch at a time.

You find out life’s this game of inches. So is football. Because in either game, life or football, the margin for error is so small -- I mean one-half a step too late, or too early, and you don’t quite make it. One-half second too slow, too fast, you don’t quite catch it.

The inches we need are everywhere around us.

They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch, because we know when we add up all those inches that’s gonna make the [This word has been automatically removed]in' difference between winning and losing! Between livin' and dyin'!

I’ll tell you this: In any fight, it’s the guy who’s willing to die who’s gonna win that inch. And I know if I’m gonna have any life anymore, it’s because I’m still willin' to fight and die for that inch. Because that’s what livin' is! The six inches in front of your face!!

Now I can’t make you do it. You got to look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes! Now I think you’re gonna see a guy who will go that inch with you. You're gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows, when it comes down to it, you’re gonna do the same for him!

That’s a team, gentleman!

And, either we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals.

That’s football guys.

That's all it is.

Now, what are you gonna do?

Would actually be the safest option, as he'd run the wrong way

He'd be quick though.

I don't know what you say to the guys but I'd be telling them to keep following the process. They all have to look to have good individual games focused on taking the best options for the team.

Apart from that just enjoy it. It's playing a game and getting paid well for it.

i'd tell the boys to stop playing like busted assholes, to actually start trying (because currently half the team are walking it in), to be doing extra training on fitness because so many players are lazy bums, and that the players should donate 1% of their salaries to the ambush and other WT supporter groups as compensation for wasting so much of our own time and money on useless lazy fools getting smashed.
Looking forward to your negative post…

"I know everyone is giving you a tough time. We're not playing well. That's the simple truth. Some of us think they're putting effort in. Yeah, 95% of the time. But 95% isn't enough to compete in first grade.

This is the toughest competition in the world. You can't just be present on plays sometimes. It takes effort after effort after effort to compete with the best. Go watch back any grand final. Do you think you have the ticker to back up after a shift, a linebreak, and 3 offloads in the space of two plays? Because I don't see that sort of heart here at the moment.

I want you to think about your job and go out there and execute it. Compete on every play. There are a few guys busting their arses every week for this team. Are you one of them? *looks at Doueihi and shakes head*

Well, in any case, we're all getting paid here. So who cares? We get paid whether we come first or last. You guys are living the high life. How good?! We suck at our jobs and we're all earning the kind of money the commonfolk could only dream of.

At the end of the day, you can miss as many tackles as you want, the money still goes in your account all the same. But one day far in the future, you'll wonder what life could've been life if you had made that tackle, or thrown that pass a little more accurately. At that point it doesn't mean squat what your bank balance says. You'll know whether you accomplished something you can be proud of.

So get out there and do something...anything...please...we are begging you...especially you Brooks and Doueihi. May the lord have mercy on your souls."

I think you lost them at the fork in the road !

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Bellamy addresses his players. He is such a miserable sob even when Melbourne is winning, why do they play for the coach?

Having 5 home grounds or whatever it is leads to the players having no association and accountability with the community they are meant to represent. Ive known for years now that these players dont give two hoots about their fans.

Next thread. . . .

You guys have the most loyal and patient fans in the NRL.
We get angry and frustrated because we like winning. Hopefully you all build a winning culture for us.
Build that confidence in yourselves and we will build fan confidence in the club again.
