Potter can't coach

There is no coach that can fix what's happening with injuries and cap restrictions. The selections Potter is making are forced.

Such an overreaction. No one wanted Potter gone earlier in the season.

Which 1st grade side do you coach OP? What about reserves? NYC? Ok jnr footy maybe?

None?

Oh that's right you're just a keyboard hack throwing his toys out of his pram because we got done by one of the premiership contenders who also fields a team with a good number if origin players.

Have a becks and a lay down.

Potter has to go, he can't coach!!
R u guys serious, this guy is pathetic!
Getting rid of koro, playing lulia, bringing gavet on after 60minutes. All reasons why he can't coach not considering injuries!!
Please if he was sacked we would be going much better!
Get ready for the slaughters to come, u asked for it..
If Robbie said or he didn't, I will potter can't coach..
All the injuries we have had this year and he lets our best two reserve wingers go!! Great move potter!!

With all players available, give me your team selection coach.

Lathami is over the top but he is not wrong.

Look what McFadden and McGregor have done in half a season. Compare that with Potter.

People need to stop drinking the Tallis Kool-aid. There are good reasons why there is pressure on Potter. The team has not improved.

Sure injuries suck. Funny how they werent acceptable excuses under Sheens.

We have improved. Injuries are hurting us though and it's plain as day to see the difference it makes to the overall cohesion of the side.

McFadden? Easily the most talented squad in the comp with an endless supply of juniors and they're just hanging on to the 8\. Nothing has changed at the Warriors.
I'll give you McGregor, but that's a combination of Price's ineptitude and a couple of marquee signings in Widdop and Dugan. They have a top quality back line that has managed to stay on the park.

Potter may not necessarily be the best coach, but he's the best option we have, and miles ahead of Kidwell and Payten. If he goes, surely they have to too. We've got talent on it's way up, but it'll take time which isn't exactly a luxury an NRL coach has.

Potters not the problem …..
1\. We have had too many youngsters come into top grade all at the same time . Moses / brooks /Sironen /Rowe / tedesco / akauola etc ... It's boys verses men !
2\. Again too many injuries
3\. Why did we sign old hacks like halatau / Richards & anasta ? ( they're only hear to top up their pensions )
4\. Farah & woods missing for rep duties ... Blah blah blah .....
We will come good in about 2-3 years IMO

That's all true but unfortunately Yes Potter is part of the problem.
Did you see on Fox when they showed the dressing rooms at half time ? Every Storm player was looking at the coach. Was anyone looking at Potter ?

I think the jury is still out on Potter, but you could not flick him based on results. No team can win with 3/4 of their back line and the odd forward in the sickbay. I actually think they put up a top effort tonight considering the cattle they had at their disposal.

Although I think the so called glory days are still a few years away and next year we will be bottom of the 8 of there about with who ever coaches us. to many kids and not enough quality in our experienced troops.

Time will tell but you could not flick Potter on what our team has or has not done in 2014

I disagree. When he had a full strength side he had us absolutely singing. Now we've got a team that through no fault of his own has to play forwards in the backs.

Yep. But it doesn't give us much to write about unfortunately.
Blaming the coach on the other hand… The threads just roll on...

I agree. I'm starting to think Potter should go. He has had 2 seasons and hasn't made the right calls too many times this season.

And on another thread we're blaming Farah for the Storm result.

This sums it up. End of story.

What hope have we got??
The club has given potter a death sentence and he awaits execution. ( so we all sit and wait) The real issue who is running the joint for the remainder of 2014 and therfore who do the players trust / believe in?? payten is alledgedly causing trouble but has the tactical smarts and another who is on death row and kidwell has the discipline and players respect. Is it any shock the season is heading south….

Well after last nights performance i must say i'd like to see a new coach too

And no one give me that BS about it was the players playing and not the Coach.
If he cant turn a team around at halftime then he is dead set rubbish
In 2014 we have NEVER looked like coming back from a deficit to win however we ALWAYS look to lose when we are leading.

We simply dont have the players to compete at the moment …... can't blame Potter for that.
However moving forward its very clear to me we need a fresh start hence Potter has to go.

Im sorry but i really cant blame a coach, any coach, for recent results. The cruel, realistic fact is that injuries have ruined our season hopes again. This is not a cop out.

Tedesco
Nofo
Lawrence
Patterson
1/2 richards
Anasta
Moltzen
Brooks - last night
Fulton

This is not a FEW injuries. This is near our entire first choice backline out! The result is players out of position and much more responsibility on our young talent. Im sure the coach always intended to blood the likes of Moses this year but not in the current scenario. Add all this to cap restrictions and the team pretty much selects itself.

Potter is doing his beat to get reserve team to perform. The fact is we are well outclassed without the majority of our first 17 available. This would be the case with ANY team. Last night we were simply outclassed, they had way too much pace for our patchwork backline and a far, far superior kicking game.

With out fu squad available, we are a force. With 7 first choice players out at one time, we are not. Simple as that. Our form is not a coaching issue.

This is my problem. After 2 years the jury should be in - either way.

So what happens if we take another year of him and then realise he doesnt have it. Three years gone with a new coach starting from scratch.

This squad is good enough - and Potter deserves some of the credit for that - that a good coach could do a lot with them.

I am not so worried about the results but the relatively listless displays. Has been a very frustrating year. 4 good games (very good in fact) and the rest has been dross.
