Potter re-signing tonight/tomorrow

I won't renew either, I believe Potter has done exactly what was required to earn more time at the helm.

Apart from Mayer, the only other person from within who has commented on Potter's situation was Blocker, who said it will depend on the results. So it would seem that they are in no hurry to sort this out.

For mine it seems that the same influence who didn't want Potter in the first place, and got Payten onto the staff as a concession, still have the knives out. Only excellent results will save Potter if that's the case and it probably will still only be temporary.

If Todd is saying "I'll move on if I don't get the gig", then I'd be inclined to let him move on. I think he needs more experience to become a good NRL coach and it will be more rounded experience if he learns at another club as well.

I'll make it clear that I loved Payten as a player and thought he was a great servant to our club.

His only claim to the top role is his premiership with the U20's squad which boasted the likes of Teddy, Moses, Brooks, Nofoaluma, Brown & Koroibete. A few of the aforementioned are kids who could well be "once in a generation" type players if they continue to develop. His only first team experience is under Potter and if it is perceived that he is not getting results well Payten then qualifies as part of the problem as an assistant coach.

If he wants to leave because he won't get the top role well then adiós el grande hombre…

Maybe we should start a petition. Not to make any demands purely to make it clear to the people on the board that the fans/members are behind Potter. If it gets a few thousand sigs we can send it to GM.

Not that I disagree but the u20 premiership was before brooks and Moses, that was when Miller was half

It was a great team tho.

I think this is a great idea and what better place to start than at the gates to the game? I get the feeling that what will happen however, is that the support that Potter has will stay confined to the likes of forums such as this one, and with disgruntled fans within their own lounge rooms and work places but pretty much remain there. Once he's dumped, those same folk will just put up with it and move on. Sad really, but that's generally what happens. Now South Sydney fans…..they know how to make things roll!

actuallly brooks, teddy, moses and not sure about brown weren't there in that squad iirc.

it was miller, koro, noffa, rudolph, rowe? and mosese fotuaika (may he RIP) and others like ino, lovett, santi etc.

Kurtis Rowe, David Nofoaluma, Brodie Monroe, Asipeli Fine, Marika Koroibete, Matt Mulcahy, Jacob Miller, Sauaso Sue, Ben Saunders, Mosese Fotuaika, Joel Luani, Kyle Lovett, Inno Inosesio; Interchange: Soni Paasi, Nathan Brown, Brenden Santi, Sitaleki Akauola, Shane Lalogafau, Andy Fiagatusa, Manaia Rudolph, Daniel Rakvin

that was the grand final team. payten did do a great job as an u20s coach and even had a couple of gigs as an origin coach. im sure his time will come to coach this team but he will have to wait at least a couple more years imo

Apparently Farah is the person against Potter being re signed. Source is twitter, guy heard it on the radio.

Yep just heard that on triple m. Something about him not liking the structure/style we play? Didn't go into too much detail.

A bit surprising really. Robbie has played great under potter.

On one hand, it seems unlikely. On the other, blatantly obvious. If he is the source and is that spiteful so as to destabilize at this point in the year, then I'll lose a whole heap of respect for the guy. He may think he is the club rather than a part of the club and if so, then I'd like to see him gone. I couldn't imagine that he is the root cause though.

Can I ask where the information that Payten is behind all this is coming from? Is it just rumour or has there been something to back it up?

He had the biggest ego as a junior coming through the ranks…he was that up himself it wasnt funny

I imagined age had matured him but ....well....as much as I hate to say it, it fits

Even though I didnt notice anything, many others commented on the press conferences, the body language, the lack of support from RF when Potter was questioned about his position...I dunno.

Would it be fair to say that if that is the case? Farah being the influential player that he is would try and make sure or control the situation that we don't make the 8 so that next year Potter's contract doesn't get extended to next year?
I can't think Farah would be behind all this, him wanting Potter to leave?
It's hard to comment on something that I don't know the facts about, but would hate to think Farah feels this way about Potter

When we beat souths & manly for me that was Potters game plan / style which Potter wants . We aren't that good enough week in / week out ( at the moment ) to play like that .
In between we've had a few poor loses and a few scrappy wins …
When we thumped the dogs last week maybe Farah & Payten ignored Potters instructions and went with a more flamboyant game plan to somehow tell Potter this is how we want to play , which obviously worked , or were the dogs that bad ? I think Farah is playing both sides ( potter & Payten).. Or am I just talking crap ???

I dont think Farah's actions on the field indicate he would want us to miss the 8 so Potter would be punted …off the field however I'm not that surprised
