Potter re-signing tonight/tomorrow

"Something about him not liking the structure/style we play" You've gotta be joking. If this is true then a great big DIDDUMS to Robbie Farah.
I have a boss. Sometimes he directs me to do things I don't like or to do things in a way I don't like. Bzzzzzzzzt Umm? What's wrong with this picture?

The same thing happened to Potter in his spell at St Helens. (Where he was the first coach in an age to leave the club without winning anything…) Players didn't really warm to him or his tactics. Fans found the style of play too simple and boring...(and this is SL we are talking about here...). Left Saints by mutual consent to go back to Australia but took his next job up with Bradford not long after.

He reminds me a lot of Matt Elliott..... a kind of bland, basic, low percentage toiler. He'd make a great coach for the Canberra Raiders or Gold Coast Titans. Granted, we are a lot better this season than but its mostly down to our youngster's natural ability and Farah being in top form again. The team looks over-trained and under prepared tactically come game day. (but I could be wrong about that)

Give him his chance to make the 8 this year. If no joy (yet again) Neil Henry, Brad Arthur or Anthony Griffin to replace him.

When we beat souths & manly for me that was Potters game plan / style which Potter wants . We aren't that good enough week in / week out ( at the moment ) to play like that .
In between we've had a few poor loses and a few scrappy wins …
When we thumped the dogs last week maybe Farah & Payten ignored Potters instructions and went with a more flamboyant game plan to somehow tell Potter this is how we want to play , which obviously worked , or were the dogs that bad ? I think Farah is playing both sides ( potter & Payten).. Or am I just talking crap ???

Oh, the Owner told Clarence the clocker
The clocker told jockey McGee
The jockey, of course, passed it on to the horse
And the horse told me

Its just not that easy to come up with a game plan completely different from what the coach has planned

Unless they are going to some secret hideaway to work on completely different plans , I can't see it

I think Farah and Potter have their differences on every thing from team selections to game plans , but they both respect each other

But if Robbie is undermining Potter , do we really want a skipper doing that ??

It would only be a matter of time until Farah got the poos with the next coach as well when he had to do something that Robbie wasn't happy with

And I sure as hell don't want a coach who is white anting the current coach

Earn it the real way , by hard work and putting smart processes into place

And if the rumours are true Todd , karma is a [This word has been automatically removed] with bad pms

Apparently Farah is the person against Potter being re signed. Source is twitter, guy heard it on the radio.

Yep just heard that on triple m. Something about him not liking the structure/style we play? Didn't go into too much detail.

A bit surprising really. Robbie has played great under potter.

On one hand, it seems unlikely. On the other, blatantly obvious. If he is the source and is that spiteful so as to destabilize at this point in the year, then I'll lose a whole heap of respect for the guy. He may think he is the club rather than a part of the club and if so, then I'd like to see him gone. I couldn't imagine that he is the root cause though.

He had the biggest ego as a junior coming through the ranks…he was that up himself it wasnt funny

I imagined age had matured him but ....well....as much as I hate to say it, it fits

Even though I didnt notice anything, many others commented on the press conferences, the body language, the lack of support from RF when Potter was questioned about his position...I dunno.

Having been fortunate enough to work for the tigers from 2006-2008 I have to agree with you here Ink, it always amazed me how people commented about Benji's ego along the way but not Robbie's. My experience and observation of both of them as people and how they handled themselves was always that Benji gave as much of himself to the fans as he could and Robbie always had to be pushed into it and was, for want of another word, arrogant.

If (and that's a big "if" considering the media) this report is true it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, Robbie is an exceptional footballer but is very self absorbed and if the coach's plans didn't suit him I have no doubt that he would drive an agenda to fit his own needs before the teams.

I heard it on radio too.. if true, disappointing to hear… needs to pull his head in.. tiger fans are saving Potter at the moment... Makes sense Robbie is the Mole.

Sheensie always said Farah was "a lair" when he came to grade, needed to work on his attitude more than his game.

Rest is pure speculation.

Whilst this maybe true,Sheens said he would quit if we missed the 8,so he too is a liar.

London to a brick this story is true. I am convinced that Farah is the bandit. I didn't want to reveal my hand before this but now I'm confident all and sundry will know anyway. Robbie my boy you are nothing special, you never had anyone of note stand against you for the hooker position at a higher level. You dirty low down excuse for a human being. Mick Potter is a champion player and coach and to be backstabbed by you is a laugh in itself. I am so upset that I can't say anymore.

It's all speculation, and it's clear Robbie's not the most popular player in the NRL, including some media. It's hard to see Robbie's pay-off for undermining Potter.
Unless of course, he was at the heart of the boys club and he wants to return there with Payten in his pocket.
While I have the utmost respect for Payten, Potter's achievements and exposure to excellence as player and coach are priceless. I hope our future stars recognise that, and I'm sure they do. In the end, he's who they're aiming to be.

It seems there's no longer doing your time as the apprentice.
Payten has done brilliantly. No doubt.
But he should be considering himself lucky if he's not still spending half his time at the photocopier.

Like that, and Potter. I hope that he gets at least another year to show his wares, with what will still be a young squad.

If they do punt him, I would not mind Griffin if he would come south, both geographically and financially.

If they do punt him it demonstrates clearly and vividly that this club promotes based on petty politics rather than performance and merit.
If they do punt him it tells me that it's not the Tigers but the monkeys, and the monkeys are running the Zoo.
If they do punt him it won't matter who his replacement is because there is no way he will be number one monkey and things won't change.

Lair not liar. We did make the 8 in the year Sheens said that - 2011.
