Potter to take reins from Sheens

I wrote elsewhere it may be driven by Sheens dragging out his movements. If he were to take a full time kangaroos position before the WT issue is resolved WT would not be liable for anything but the difference, if any, in wages.

Sheensy well and truly screwed the Cowboys before his eventual leaving so he has form on the board in that regard.

For all we know the decision may have been made but cannot be solidified until the Sheens situation is solved.

Yeh Ive been thinking that too smeg, the succesful applicant probably does know…Im sure its sheens and what to do with him thats making them edgy
Thing is....Sheens can hold out till next year...the team cant...others have mentioned further possible legal ramifications in naming a succesor before the problem is solved
sigh

Good ol Sheenius. Digging his heels in, "a contracts a contract" when it suits him. Not when it's re: Gibbs, Fifita, Moltzen, Ryan or Heighington.

Even though I think he's fully untitled to a payout, I couldn't agree with you more.

If it's as reported they were going to pay him 2/3 of the 2 year salary, where he has all that time to seek other employment. When Wests allowed him to take the Aust job in the meantime, when they could have refused. Yeah I think he should accept the negotiated payout and walk.

As I have said before, it was reported that Potter coached for nothing when his ESL team fell on hard times and our man has been reported to have been offered 600g to walk but he wants to hang out for 900g and that is his right, but to me it says something about the two men.

Potter is said to be doing the job for less than half what Sheens wants to walk away and do nothing. Lets hope their is Karma in the world. Dont get me wrong Sheens is entitled to screw every last cent out of the place but it will come at cost to a club that filled his pockets with gold for a long time. At 62 how much money is enough???

Well said SC.

I think Tim has just found out that it ain't much fun being thrown under the bus. Must have thought that acceptance of mediocre performances permeated the whole entire fabric of the club.

It's just like an ugly divorce, with one side wanting everything and maybe they are entitled to it, the other offering some sort of compromise, but effectively they are miles apart. Just like an ugly divorce and unless there can be some sort of compromise reached, and the longer it drags out it will only get worse and have a negative affect on those who are closest to the warring parties i.e the players and the incumbent coach etc.

IMO Sheens never thought he would get punted ….he brought all of this on him self buy stuffing around with the 7 and just going throw the motions .I will state right now he thought the Tigers would make the 8 and bad luck mate you screwed yourself , I agree the difference between Sheens and Potter is defiantly different but the old boy is still seething about what happened to him .My advice get over it you poor dear maybe should of paid a bit more attention to what was happening.

So that's 2 days in a row now where it's been reported that WT will be announcing the signing of Mick Potter as their coach by the end of the day - :wtf

Maybe after all Potter doesn't want to take on the coaching job for peanuts. I can't blame him for that, another sticking point might be he can't bring his own assistance in. He would love to have a crack in the NRL, but he knows that if he fails he might not get another shot. On the other hand the WT are desperate but powerless in persuading him with limited finances. I wouldn't be surprised if Walters comes back into the mix again. I'd hate the thought of Potter slipping threw the WT fingers, he is one person that I can stamp as must have at our club.

I have posted almost identical stuff in other threads,100% agree, tuff titties Tim you made this mess for yourself, and finally you were accountable, you had a free ride for a long time,so stop whinging and get the hell out the door.

The DT must be about to spruik another name as the Tigers new coach

Time for another game of spin the coaches name . :unamused:

All you idiots saying sheens should take less money then his contract says are more then welcome to give me thier pay check next week especially as many of them seem to be on here during work hours. If Tim signed the contract and we offered it then he should be paid every last cent and deserves it too unless they come to an agreement otherwise
