He was also in charge of our defence in 05 when it was good enough to win us a Premiership. So it is not ALL bad

You mean the mentality that was ''its ok if you score 26 points cos we'll score 27''? you can get away with abysmal defence when you are blowing teams away in attack. We haven't blown anyone away in a very very long time

I'd forgotten all about that & I'll probably picture that image every time I see Roycee next year now. That should be your next profile pic or at least for a couple of days anyway. On a serious note, if the new coach isn't allowed to bring his own support staff it may be a first & i can't remember that happening at another club. (Or recall that being the case anywhere else)

When Greenburg fronted the board with his recommendations on signing Hasler & all his demands that he wanted in place, Todd allegedly said "I ask you not can we afford to sign him but can we afford not to sign him"

No team wins a Premiership without having pretty decent defence. Sure our attack was great but our defence stood up to the test when it needed to in 05.
As they say "defence is attitude" and our attitude was piss poor in all areas of the game this season, when we change that and play with more commitment the defence will sort itself out.

Having said that I don't really want Royce as our defence coach in 2013 and beyond…time to start from afresh in all departments I reckon.
 
The more I read up on Potter, the happier I am.

2x Super League Coach of the Year (once due to loyalty to Bradford - I think), 4 time grand finalist, Double Dally M Medalist, Dally M Fullback of the year three times and once Dally M Captain of the year. He also played one SOO.

54% win ratio and that is weighed by 70% at St Helens, but 39% with Bradford (who were struggling financially to say the least).

His going to be one of the top coaches with us and we will end up re signing him cant wait untill we confirm him as coach and Robbie Farah to re sign.
 
If it's Potter wish him all the best and welcome aboard. If Macguire had a top year at the Rabitohhs for his 1st year who's to say Potter can't do the same , give a chance before judging.

he was a gentleman to say the least. He's like Luke Skywalker - aka Bellamy, Hasler - uses the force. I hope Tim stays, he can ride on Potters coat tails & still coach the kangaroos. Everybody is happy.

One thing I have learnt from this forum is that there are so many people prepared to knock coaches when they themselves failures because they never had the courage to try coaching.

If I remember correctly Ink he had a pretty serious leg injury early in his career as well which cost him a fair bit of speed

Solid rugby league player , he really could of been a special player barring the injury and always seemed a class act as you said Ink
 
Actually forgot as a player he was the first fullback to win the Dally M and yes he broke his leg badly while at the Dogs in 1986
