We were a premiership contender right from the start …..... even if we dont win on Friday night we are still a premiership contender. Laurie Daley was a great player but not much of a commentator.

maybe in your opinion, but we were not premiership"heavyweights" right from the start and we are not premiership "heavyweights'' right now. We still need consistency. This has not been proven yet.

Did Laurie mention the word heavyweight ? From what I read above I thought the word was contender.

The 'heavyweight' part refers to the impact I will have on my seat in Bay 13 when I lumber into it tomorrow night with a hot dog, pie, coke and a truckload of TAB tickets.

I see his logic behind tipping the dogs. They're better than what they've shown. If they win i won't be that surprised as i know they've got the talent to do it. Like some have said, we've got areas to improve on ourselves, i think other than the Parra game we've been far from perfect though last week was imo our best defensive effort by a long way. Some signs there that we're getting better week by week. Hopefully that continues.

It's funny, when Laurie first became a commentator I rated him pretty highly.

But from around 2005 onwards, I realised what a complete knob he is and that he has no idea!.

It just shows you, no matter how bad you are in the media, as long as you were a great player you will get a job there. Just look at Fittler (Especially him! He's woeful! I think Dave Gyngell who is I think a board member with the Roosters had something to say there, maybe along the lines ill get you a gig at 9 if you dont stay coach), Joey and sorry to say it, but Junior Pearce.

Junior is terrible. I love the guy but a commentator he is not. I never thought he was as bad a coach as some suggested but given his views and ideas when commentating I have now reviewed that opinion.
