I dont not rate him.
A bit surprised he got such a long extension and very surprised he is the captain. I would have thought there would be a couple of dozen in front of him for that.
I mean realistically the only other people I could see being a potential captain in front of him from that team list would be Doueihi or Twal, so it make sense. Most of the line up is quite young and inexperienced so it makes sense they’ve gone with Seyfarth. Probably showed some good leadership qualities through pre-season.

All off season Ive said we will push for the 8 and likely just fall short.
As the season approaches, Im losing confidence.
Ask me again at Magic Round.
I said 10-12th but now honestly won’t be surprised with a 4th spoon if not bottom 4

There better be a heap of changes for round 1 otherwise that team is grim.... assuming Turuva and Luai will be fine, but worries about Bula and Olam

The club is absolutely terrible at communicating with the fans about injury updates - they leave us completely in the dark.
Gimmee $750 for a season. Ticket and you'll have exclusive accessto sfa and fluff pieces

Bit weird 21 players named this week but opposition have named 28. We named 23 last week, opps ran with more again. Some positions must be locked in with some niggles, but I don't think he wants to show his hand just yet Benji, we'll see...
Just a reminder folks - we actually play the Eels in ROUND 2, so it is not surprising that Benji is playing his cards close to his hairless chest.

I'd say there will be more added on gameday, maybe just waiting on fitness test for Luai, Turuva, Olam, Klemmer etc. Don't be surprised if they are added late.

I can't think of many back rowers that didn't start their careers coming off the bench in the middle...
Or shift in from the OB's when they got a bit older - It's just how it is.
(Probably one of the reasons most here were banging on about Sam Fainu being a Prop last year)

Individual perception is a crazy thing
- A bloke will tell you that Seyfarth hasn't come on because he's an edge that's been played in the middle...
Then tell you in the very next breath that Simon Dwyer was our next 'Bradley Clyde' Edge player
- When he spent as much time coming off the Bench in the Middle in the NRL as he did starting on an Edge?

Seyfarth might have come through on an Edge, but he was also a massive kid!!
The Best Second Rowers in the comp can promote the ball, run a great line, are light on their feet, dominate in defence and really put a dint in them with the ball in hand.
Seyfarth tries hard, But does none of the above for mine.
- Sorry, I forgot he ran a line (into a space) that one time.

Great Squadie, Will keep the starters honest and work hard, Kinda kid that would be signed 2 years at a time at any other club.
We're in trouble if we have him starting 20 games a year this season.

I think the story here is Bird being named on the bench.

I agree. Combine that with the noticeable lack of ball playing lock in the first trial and it seems Benji is going against having a skilful middle that can condense the opposition defence. This is madness and surely Luai wont stand for that. He has reaped the rewards of Yeo for years, it's hard to imagine he wouldn't want a lock that can free up some space for him.

thats because he wasnt on the field with a referee...

Come on batboy, you are completely biased with that assessment.

I'm not sticking up for Seyfarth, jury is very much out on him IMO, but he has shown on many occasions he can promote the ball better than a lot of edge players, his line running is improving the more he spends time there as well. Your other points may have some merit.

Will be good to see if Sione F and Kit L can push him out. the competition will be good for us - still potential for a late purchase to fall from the tree. From the looks of things we could punt Tumeth and not miss a heartbeat.

I can only assume that Benji will hold that back until round 1 and not unleash it against the Parrasite given we play them in round 2. If Bird is simply tucking the ball under his arm I think that will answer the mail on that call.

Worst possible outcome for our season is we win and doueihi stars haha

Jokes aside if this is just a holding move to ease Latu into the back up halves position somehow then it's Benjis call, and he will (hopefully) live or die by the sum result of these calls. If he actually has the dough Meister at 1st drop then the highlight of our year is likely another spoon bowl
