It's been a chronic injury not looking good at all. If it's a preexisting injury can he even be medically retired?

Don't know the rules about it mate but if he decides himself that he can't go on at least that opens up a spot to bring in another centre even if it doesn't come off the salary cap.

Agree. Imagine the meltdown even if he just picked up a minor injury like a strained calf. Let alone a major injury. Don’t mind at all keeping him on ice for another couple of weeks.

Absolutely. Love my kids. They are who they are and if they picture was Luai I would understand. They are kids. But if at adults they still be painting themselves as their hero - then at that point - I would be starting to ask questions. What happened? Where did I go wrong?

Kids are inquisitive. You're full of questions. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. They must be full of questions too.

Hey man , I rate him . I reckon his issue is he spent his age 19-23 years learning to be a middle in the nrl Ala Madge ball .
He made NSW schoolboys and u20s NSW as an edge forward. I’m backing him to make a fist of it .
At the very least we hopefully won’t waste our time with him in the middle class if he fails on the edge .

He made NSW schoolboys and u20s NSW as an edge forward. I’m backing him to make a fist of it .
At the very least we hopefully won’t waste our time with him in the middle class if he fails on the edge .

Maybe it's designed to hopefully keep a cool head and not get sinbinned we know the history.

I think I read somewhere , might have been been on here , that Benji was rewarding all the guys who kicked arse in pre-season and especially the army camp .
To be fair though he is mid 20s . He really should be moving toward leadership groups at that age .
The debate is whether he is a decent footy player though .
I guess the jury is out on that .

I think we'd be foolish to compare ourselves to them at the moment.
He'd likely make some of the sides down the arse end of the ladder....where we are.

Luai - precaution with leg or we aren't showing our cards to Newcastle before round 1. So we have a plan to ambush them?
Taruva - return to playing protocols afte appendicitis - no issue there.
Bula - still in cotton wool after surgery
Olam - still in cotton wool after surgery or reinjured. How do we find out the facts here?

AD at half? He has never shown the ability to control a game or pass well. We also can't hide him defensively on an edge either. This will really be a test our left edge. I assume Latu comes on for him and he shifts out to centre at some point. Will we see him at 13?????
Toa and Naden in the centres - Good to see; they get a chance to impress and cement a spot. I'm keen to see how they both play - Toa should be injury free and Naden a "rejuvinated' player.
Twal - at lock? mmm Let's see what he brings to the party - maybe he perfected 200 passes over the off season. I doubt we are going to be seeing too much ball playing off him.
Triston Hope - good call - I liked what he did on Sunday. He deserves to have a shot at cementing the backup 9 spot (assuming Api and TDS tag team this year)
Sione F - good to see him with another opportunity. I trsut he is being developed as an edge with Galvin.
Sukkar - probably at the last chance hotel.
Kit L - I want to see him as an edge in behind the Baby Giraffe and also as a lock in the mix with Bird. `Matamua's absence it telling.
As I indicated earlier this game is about structures and game plans so nothing to be too upset about. Interesting selections to say the least - but I don't expect that Benji is trying to replicate what others do. Ie he about to do a Warren Ryan and change the way the game is played? I guess time will tell.
