This week's Rugby League Week states that Ray Cashmere will call it a day at the end of this season once Balmain finish things up. Ray will go back to work in the mines and run around for Shellharbour on weekends next year.

Thanks for your contribution to Wests, Wests Tigers and Balmain over the years. All the best for the future big fella!

Appreciate Ray's efforts this season. I think he did his job really. By the looks we're lining up another experienced prop to resume the duties Ray did this season.

why is it a shame ? The guy simply wasnt a first grade player.good luck to him.

And you are 1/4, not bad for a bloke who wasnt a 1st grade player, 3 or 4 years in first grade with the cows and then a seoson or 2 in the uk gee not bad for a bloke who simply isnt a 1st grade player pardon my ignorance 1/4 but what was your total of nrl and sl games in your nrl career before you hung up the boots.
Well done Razor best of luck in the future

only 5% of those that attempt/try to play first grade footy ever do. a rare breed. rest easy and congrats.

Your kidding Mafia so if we follow your way nobody in this forum should have an opinion on anything rugby league unless they have played the game .Lincoln Raudonikus played first grade , Cashmere couldnt crack it in those days when Wests were getting flogged by 60 week in week out so your reply is weak .

Maybe the fact he was only 18 yrs old had something to do with that. Very poor for you to make a crack like that about his ability on a thread where his efforts are being appreciated

I want to thank him for turning our season around….when he threw that punch in the scrum in Newcastle. It was all down hill from there!

He tried and had some impact early on, but it only proved that we should have signed Mason.

But hey, this board does like to make mistakes!!!

Thanks Cashy for everything! Served us well over the years. Good luck for your future

Disappointed he is finishing. He's still got it. I think he was awesome. It's a damn shame the Cowboys got him when they did, but they knew a good thing when they saw it, so good for them. Cashman may not be some pinup of the game, but he was always the embodiment of the old school prop and I loved to watch him play. He ran hard. He tackled hard. He played hard. There aren't too many left like Cashmere.
