I feel like you just want instant success, with the mob we have that might be difficult to achieve. I didn't say impossible but difficult. From what I saw so far from them they will keep trying. That's the culture we are building. Give them another year together then pass on judgment.

explain what's laughable about it? this mob didn't come together two or three years ago, most of them just started playing together this year… so please tell me what's laughable about my post.

it's a new mob Geo, I would love for this crew/mob to make the 8 but I just can't see it happening, no X factor player - now that we have Mbye and Farah hopefully things will be different… let's just hope that they prove me or everyone who are doubters wrong.

I thought Wests Tigers won the premiership in 2005, five years after the club was formed. I wonder how many fans would have the courage to tell this team in their face that they are "failures". If it was the previously much vaunted Parramatta team then maybe I could understand but not Wests Tigers 2018.

Dont read it or comment ….my opinion,I cant condemn a team of tryers who may or may not play finals,they are the wests tigers and have done a fine job this year,and surprised many by their attitude and defensive style this year....but I suppose many want more than they can give...

Probably can’t remember who came 8th, but you remember the finals series. A long time since we featured and if that is acceptable, it will be a while before that changes

The 8th team very commonly only lasts one week in the finals series. The NRL only allows 7th and 8th spots to play in the finals to provide a little interest in the few weeks before the finals.

The thing is those teams coming 8th are giving themselves a shot in a whole new comp (semis) no matter how slim… Anything can happen.

Re this season, If we make the 8 it's a success. Anything less simply cannot be called success. Success is achievement of a goal and no team's goal is to finish outside the 8\. Can't be.
So, we can't go so far as calling this season a "major success". Rather a pleasant surprise.
I definitely predicted 15th or 16th.
Provided we don't slip away, finishing above 14th is technically an it is an improvement, but again, not success.

Our defence this year has improved on every year as a JV particularly with the squad we have.Even in 2005 our defence was not great it is just we had such good attack which clicked when it counted towards the end of the year.
All of us want WT to be a stronger team and this year is getting the club going that way. It is obvious we lack attack but when you have to rebuild from the ground it takes time and more importantly talent to get there.For me this year is a step going in the right direction we will probably have 6-8 new players next year i am sure Cleary will move on the ones who have not performed as well as they should.
I have faith in Ivan to continue doing a good job for all us supporters

It’s laughable because you are accusing someone who doesn’t think it’s acceptable to see his side miss the finals for a 7th consecutive season of wanting instant success. Every year is the same “have some patience. Next year is our year”. Well it never is, and some supporters are pretty tired of it.

I remember in the preseason I said that our finals hopes will be decided by 2 things and that was Brooks kicking game and Liddles game time.

Brooks has gone to another level this year which has been fantastic to watch but Liddle is unable to stay on the field consistently.

Not saying this is the total reason but we have probably had the worst service/consistency at 9 in the comp.

Not tooting my own horn but it is what it is.. :sunglasses:

I will be disappointed when/if it becomes mathematically impossible for us but I am going to just enjoy these last games and keep my fingers crossed.

If we dont make the 8 next year I will be very angry.
