The referendum itself is costing $360 million, if it's successful who knows how much the political-advisory apparatus and associated hangers-on will cost.We don’t know how much additional funding would be allocated to this Voice. That’s another detail that would only be determined after the referendum
Who do you suppose lives in very remote areas? Which ethnic group?Last time I checked there were political parties representing every single electorate in the country.
You'd be entirely wrong then.
"A recent RFDS report highlighted the huge gaps in life expectancy of people in the most remote areas of the country, where in 2020 females died on average 19 years younger than their counterparts in major cities, with the figure standing at 13.9 years for males."

Labor government mate.From what website?
Here you go. April 2022That is from their website.
Labor government mate.
In what way does it say we didn’t make this an election commitment?Labor government mate.
I never said it will bro I just think dealing with these issues that effect all Australians rather then Aboriginals are currently more important.
Rural Australia typically has higher than national average white Australians, and higher than national average indigenous Australians. And in both cases the life expectancy, incomes, education, and other similar metrics significantly underperform those of more privileged Australians (of whatever race) who live in cities.Who do you suppose lives in very remote areas? Which ethnic group?
I’m not understanding this argument that the voice would only be so for the ‘elite/ educated’ indigenous people (as if they shouldn’t be entitled to a say). It’s an in principle question, the nuts and bolts still to be determined and changed if required by future legislatures.
You’re saying rural Australians have lower health outcomes than Indigenous Australians?Rural Australia typically has higher than national average white Australians, and higher than national average indigenous Australians. Can you give me an explanation as to how this referendum will help Aboriginals? I'm genuinely asking mate because I've done quite a bit of research & the info from people advocating for it has been very vague. I just struggle to vote yes for something that isn't guaranteed to work. It's also costing the country quite a bit of money when that money can be used actually making a change for everyone out there struggling. Both are important bro. And as Yoss stated the
1st nations are the most disenfranchised
community. Have been for some time. I think
it's pretty shameful personally. A lot of folks
seem to be really cavalier about this point...
I went to NZ and was stunned at the difference
between the indigenous community & maōri
community — we haven't even had a treaty here.
The coexistence between the anglos and maōri
is worlds apart compared to here. Embarrassing
No, clearly I'm saying that rural Australians, regardless of ancestry, are more disadvantaged than urban Australians, regardless of ancestry. You’re saying rural Australians have lower health outcomes than Indigenous Australians?

Sure. Who’s saying they’re not? But the fact remains Indigenous Australians have poorer health and life expectancy indicators compared to comparable non-indigenous in any measurable circumstances. No, clearly I'm saying that rural Australians, regardless of ancestry, are more disadvantaged than urban Australians, regardless of ancestry.
He never said they didn't. You missed his original point from point blank.Sure. Who’s saying they’re not? But the fact remains Indigenous Australians have poorer health and life expectancy indicators compared to comparable non-indigenous in any measurable circumstances.
