Do you mean Concord? If so you have to be kidding. It will be a place for elite athletes and occupied by the Wests Tigers. The buildings are progressing well and within a short period of time of it being announced. The exact opposite to what Elias has had a hand in on Victoria Road.

I don't. I whinge a lot about our current board and structure but it is infinitely better than anything associated with Elias. Be careful what you wish for, it could be much, much worse.

Unfortunately it's not. There would be only one way the Wests Tigers would end with Elias at the helm and that is very badly. You could kiss the club goodbye.

We won’t survive with the current ownership imo.

Balmain have no debt - Wests paid it out.

Debt to Wests. If they paid back the money Wests paid (the debt) then they could get their seats back on the board. I thought that was the deal.

I think that was a previous deal, Wests Ashfield and Balmain Leagues Amalgamated with Wests Ashfield taking 90% control of the Wests Tigers. Balmain Junior League is now funded by WA.

I’m so divided on this in so many ways. There are pros and cons to private ownership. There are pros and cons to Benny’s involvement.

What would be interesting to know is whether Balmain can sell their 10% share - i couldnt see them doing it but if they did it does give him the opportunity to have a say on how things should be run. I really have no idea if there was something in the gifting of the 10% that stopped them from selling it off.

The football club makes a small profit as I understand it. If there isn’t a call on more equity from the owners (eg to cover losses ) then why do we need new ownership? If west’s wants to sell 100% of the club that may make some sense commercially ie they make a windfall profit but if you sell the majority shareholding to another entity you are giving away management rights
