Richards a liability

He wasn't too bad with ball in hand either. On average he made more than 10 metres every time he ran the ball, breaking the line 13 times for 10 tries. On top of missing just 14 tackles across the entire season, he has a wealth of experience as one of only three premiership players at the club.

For a bloke who is a supposed Liability in a team that had the WORST defence in the NRL…missing 14 tackles will do Me....Scored more tries too...Patty 10 Nofo 7...all worth the same number of points no matter how they are scored...

I agree, when compared with the best wingers/goal kickers like: El Masri, Halligan, Cowell etc. I would take Richards any day.

Unfortunately, we have quite a few greater liabilities e.g.
Lawrance, Lulia, Halatau.

any of them cannot stand any comparison with their piers :frowning:
Lawrence vs Matai or Jennings
Lulia vs Hodges, Lailua
Halatau vs Gallen, Watmough

Awesome stat bro, probably do some research before you bring it up as a point for though. He only made 61 tackles, meaning he actually missed 19% of all tackles attempted.

Not looking so impressive now is it?

Yeah you're right…. kinda like Nofo who brings the ball back better but only ave 8,07 mpr compared to Pat's 10.07 and making 87 tackles and missing 23 at 21% and is a million times better finisher...

Maybe it might be possible (just for the sake of the exercise) to the let the guy, maybe play at least one NRL game for 2015 before making him the whipping boy.

Looks like it is going to be a tight tussle for the whipping boy of the year for 2015.

Richards, Lawrence or Moltzen - not fair I guess Timmy is out till round 10.

And the winner is….......

Surely fergieferr and Stevetiger are the same person, I couldn't believe 2 people could be so ludicrous in bagging our own player befor the season has started, up until he got injured last year I thought Richards was going well and he deserves to be there again this year

I'm not fergieferr and my opinion is based on Richards performances last year. If he improves this year that will be great.

What I think most people are saying Stevetiger, is let's give him a chance this year before putting the boot in. Just my opinion.

When Pat played injured and couldn't kick, he wasn't great. JT has mentioned this won't happen under his reign (or something to that effect). However a fully fit Richards doing things with the boot no one else can do, will serve us well. Here's to another year of towering kick offs, drop goals from the side lines, 70 meter drop outs, 85% goal kicking..ect ect. Happy days.

Nofo definitely has to work on his defence, but he is 21 and will continue to improve. Wingers stats on kick returns are hard to read. Obviously bringing a kick back when you have 20m of room is going to result in a bigger hit up then a dummyhalf run. If you seriously think Richards is more powerful then you musnt watch rugby league. Nofo scored multiple tries by running directly over the top of guys. Titans, storm, raiders and eagles all spring to mind. Pure strength by going in hard, something we don't see pat do.

Lol nice one mate.

He was going on about the 14 missed tackled like it was showing pat was some sort of defensive legend. I was merely pointing out that 14 of 75 attempted isn't that impressive.

Good point. Without what he offers in the kicking department, you'd want Naiqama there, but his value is in his goal kicking, kick-offs, field goals, drop-outs and height in the air. So while he's fit and kicking, he's tough to replace and is a quality solution to a problem.

Hopefully the team has a structure that will see him get a few tries as well. Go Pat!
