Let's not forget Ricky walked out on Parra.

Ricky built a very competitive team which was a genuine premiership threat. Bateman is a huge loss. So is JL for that matter. I don't believe the Raiders are at the same level without them.

This is a bad look for the NRL.

The signing of Scott must be questioned as Ricky could have used the cash to upgrade Bateman. I'd suggest he is worth it to the Raiders. He should have signed Momirovski who to me would be a much better fit for Ricky than Scott. See how important smart well performed lower profile players are to clubs?

JL as in Joey Leilua? Didn't he let him go so he could nab Curtis Scott?

He did and has buyin Scott improved his team?

Well Scott has been demoted to the bench this week, (plus all the off-field drama) so not yet, but it's a work in progress.

Losing Bateman essentially for Scott has to suck. Ricky should have looked at the chess pieces.

True. Bateman may have wanted out regardless though, it seems it's all about the money for him. He may have dogged them for a small amount extra, who knows.

He came from a real tough background to be honest. Was a teenage dad . So he just wants to set his family up for life . He has no loyalty to Aussie clubs . Not like an Aussie would . I don’t begrudge him. If I was playing the UK I’d be a club [This word has been automatically removed] as well.

As a club, if I had to sign a transfer fee to entice a player to my club (meaning he broke his last contract as well come to think of it), then I'd want to put a clause in to the contract that if the player leaves early then that transfer fee comes out of his pocket not the club.

And yeah good points about the teenage dad and the non-Aussie background, I don't begrudge him in those circumstances. Buyer beware though whatever club he goes to. Good player, but likely to leave for more cash.

Totally ! I strongly hope the tigers don’t sign him , as his loyalty is too the highest bidder ! That can really kill culture . But yea , I respect that he’s open and honest about it . It’s not like he’s doing a Woodsy , and quoting redundant nonsense like “it is , what it is” .

After Mitchel Moses and Isaac Moses, I have a hard time believing the fella who parted the sea wasnt also a grub. 40 yrs to make a 20 day ish walk, bloke was getting paid by the hr for sure...

Not a Sticky fan but back him 100% on this one ... These player manager’s need to be brought into line
