RIP Tommy Raudonikis

Loved Laurie Daley on the BSB this morning saying when Tommy was coach you new it would be tough but there was always a lot of fun and at SOO time Tommy hated Queenslandlanders and his favourite expression was BASH'EM

A Fan on Facebook has suggested if your at the game on Sunday at the 7th minute of the game stand up and give a rousing round of applause for Tommy a wonderful suggestion

Tommy's passing in a strange way ignite the CULTURE that MADGE has been searching for to install into the club

Another great suggestion

Got to say its day 2 of the news and still feel flat. Good to see and hear of the reminisces by people but gee he has left a hole I never realised I would feel. He is only a few years older than me but I grew up watching him and the team going around and giving their all. I will miss him but boy have I got some great memories.

The Maggies could be 20 points behind with 10 to go and Tommy would still be in there revving up the boys for another go. Wasn't the most skilful half who ever played the game but for pure ticker and sheer toughness, he was in a class of his own. May he rest in peace. A true champion in every way.

The Wests Tigers will wear their Magpies-inspired black jerseys as a mark of respect for the late, great Tommy Raudonikis for Sunday’s home clash against North Queensland.

The Tigers had planned to wear their orange regalia for the Leichhardt Oval encounter, but will switch strips to honour the legendary halfback. Black armbands will also be worn, while a minute’s silence will be observed at all NRL matches during round five.
Via Sydney Morning Herald.

Great news about the jerseys. Will be an emotion-charged day, the boys have no option but to give their all in honour of the champ.

classic Tommy was when he was on 2gb continuous call years ago when he was telling Bozo they need to punch and rip ears off the Queensland's like when he was playing and Bozo was like you can't do that we are not in 1976 and to my was like well bring the biff back again
they broke the mould

If they don’t get up for this game they deserved to get stoned off the park !

Wests Tigers will honour the late Tommy Raudonikis by retiring the number seven jersey across all four grades this Sunday at Leichhardt Oval.

.
Wests Tigers will further honour Raudonikis in the club’s next game at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, which will take place against the @GCTitans in Round 9.

It will be celebrated by the club as a “Tommy Raudonikis Memorial Round” with further tributes to take place.

Sad to hear, RIP to an extraordinary man.

I mean no disrespect to any forumers..but to the life long Wests Magpies supporters on the forum, thanks for always keeping his(and other former players) memory alive. It's always been a pleasure to hear about your personal experiences and the special moments that solidified your love for the game. Your words unite us all.
Thankyou Tommy for such an incredible legacy!!
It's because of players like you that the Wests Tigers and it's supporter base get to celebrate a proud team and its history. And likewise to rugby league and its fans in general.
They don't make them like they used to.

So you don’t agree with my statement ?
You’d rather wait in the tunnel and hand out participation awards ?

That’s a great idea but I think we should chant his name so everyone is fully aware of what is happening.

I believe the 1/2 back in each of the games for us will be first out of the tunnel and carry the number 7 to be placed over a seat on the sideline.

Much better idea mate, good stuff👍. Get away from the soccer/American sports way of commemorating occasions such as this, honouring Tommy by chanting his name seems much more fitting. Hopefully they will have a cattledog roaming the sideline as well.

Now that the 7 jersey will be retired in honour of Tommy for the game does this mean Brooks will just have a question mark ❓ on the back of his jersey ?
😂
