Robbie Farah and rest of the year prediction

Ir was meant to be done last week, but still no announcement. Probably still negotiating how much they are paying of his salary.

I'm just putting it out there in regards to Robbie Farah and the rest of the year selection prediction.

My understanding is Robbie has played 247 games thus far and my gut feeling is that Robbie will somehow play his 250th game at Leichhardt Oval as he has hoped (dreamt) in round 26 against Canberra Raiders.

What do you guys think?

My prediction still stands

I'm waiting for this weeks selection

We'll find out on Tuesday I guess, but I wouldn't be putting any money on it - too many bridges burned.

Don't hold your breath.

Ayoub is at it again. Didn't warrant it's own thread.

Wests Tigers remain confident
Tigers
Money not form behind Robbie Farah dumping, says manager Sam Ayoub

ROBBIE Farah is being forced out of the Wests Tigers due to the size of his contract, not because of his on-field value to the team.

That’s the opinion of Farah’s manager Sam Ayoub despite assurances from the Tigers the former skipper has been dropped for team chemistry and could return to the NRL.

The veteran hooker has spent the past three weeks in the NSW Cup and Ayoub believes this is a result of the joint venture club’s reluctance to pay out his back ended four-year deal, worth approximately $950,000 next season.

Farah’s dumping is about money not form, says Farah’s manager.
“Robbie isn’t being selected based on their agenda and their agenda is to try and squeeze him out because of the money he is on,” Ayoub told The Daily Telegraph.

“We will sit back and watch while he doesn’t get selected on his merits.”

Farah has been strongly linked to South Sydney on a two-year contract, but Ayoub said the NSW Origin No. 9 is yet to make a decision on his future.

The Tigers also haven’t been approached by a rival NRL club regarding Farah and a potential transfer fee.

It’s understood another team could pick up the former premiership-winner for next season on a bargain price of just $200,000, leaving the Tigers to fork out upwards of $700,000.

However, it’s believed the club is yet to discuss any figures around a possible release of their long-term hooker.

But this could change in the coming weeks as interest in Farah from rival clubs like South Sydney ramps up.

Farah with Ayoub, who says his client may not leave the club.
The Tigers have previously stated Farah can honour the final season of his lucrative four-year deal, however it’s unlikely the 32-year-old will want to finish his stellar career in reserve grade.

Ayoub, though, refused to rule out his client remaining at the Tigers next season.

“Robbie doesn’t have to go anywhere,” Ayoub said about Farah, who scored a try and kicked a field goal in the Tigers’ dominant NSW Cup victory over Wentworthville on Saturday.

“He also won’t be going anywhere without his entitlements and this is being monitored very closely by a lot of people.”

The Players’ Association met with Farah and Ayoub over dinner recently in a bid to resolve the situation with the Tigers in the coming weeks.

It’s understood the RLPA want to play a role in ensuring the NSW Origin No. 9 gets the best possible outcome, both personally and professionally.

Since coach Jason Taylor made the contentious call to drop Farah last month, Wests have won three out of four matches — only losing to the Titans last weekend by a spectacular Jarryd Hayne field goal.

A whole lot to nothing new there ^^

It's just perplexing how any journalist would want to give this windbag media time.
Once Robbie is gone we still have to keep dealing with this player manager. It's a horrid excuse for a human.

No wonder Farah makes the decisions he does with advisors like this idiot guiding him. What hope do you have? No wonder Teddesco canned him.

I would have thought even Ayoub would have worked out that this kind of cheap media is a waste of time and probably counter productive for his client. I can't see what he hopes to achieve. Last gasp before signing with the rabbits?

I disagree. As a supporter I am very worried about where this is headed. Ayoub is a smart operator and his comment about merit selection is the issue which stands out in this article.

The only thing to worry about is another attempt to destabilise the team. This time in the run for a spot in the eight.

If he signs elsewhere, shuts his mouth , and we're out of contention hell probably get a leichhardt send off.
I'm hopeful we're still in contention.

Conversely, three straight wins followed by a one point loss on the bell trumps anything and everything, so WT would not be worried in the slightest. The form and possession stats of Moses is simply icing on the cake.

I don't see how the performance of the team is related as to whether a player is or isn't selected on merit. That a player manager is publicly suggesting something is amiss following the alleged threat in 2015 isn't a good look for the club (at the very least).

You don't see how team performance relates to selection decisions? Being the best individual doesn't mean you are the best for the team.

Good thing Jason Taylor does eh?
That's what Farah's manager has missed. The 1sts team is being selected on merit. Robbie is being selected on merit, not in the 1sts team.

"Being the best individual doesn't mean you are the best for the team."

Keep repeating that after we miss the 8 again.

Don't forget, we are the only team to have lost to the Knights.

Refresh my memory. Who played hooker in that game?
