I agree with 'formerguest', that says to me; There were good reasons Wests Tigers took the drastic step of releasing the team Captain.

I don't read anything there that says Taylor's position is untenable.

Re: Pascoe making a call that reverses Taylor and the board's decision. I thought I read that he would not be making a call about anything until he had familiarised himself with various situations. If so, it's unlikely he'd make a call like that so soon, especially with Farah still away.

It wouldn't take long forb an experienced administrator to familiarise himselrf with this situation.
A 😛layer has contract

B:club cannot force him out without paying him out in full

C: it's players right to go elsewhere or stay here.

D: Coach should first know what he CAN do , before Opening his mouth

If anyone thinks that he came in here cold a couple of days ago. Theyre a bit nieve.
He's had plenty of time to get across a lot of this before even getting here .
It doesn't need Farah to be here at all .

You keep taking pot shots at Taylor

Yes he must have had a major say , but the board had to rubber stamp it

If this call was such a major thing and such a conspiracy why didn't the board wait for the new CEO to start

As far as the entire board and the coach was concerned this was black and white and accepted across the board

I'm sorry until they changed their minds yesterday , they were doing the right thing by this club , we need to stop putting one person ahead of all others

Other teams can do it , why can't we just accept it

I'm sick of hearing all the things about how we all owe Robbie our first borns because of what he has done for the club in the past

Performance wise , since 2012 , what has Robbie done for the WT's to get the mega bucks he gets ??

His last game in 2011 he lost us a premiership , he owes us big time for that alone

Lost us a premiership!!! Really? Try that one on a Manly fan I think they are under the impression their team earned that premiership, after all they finished above us on the ladder.

Anyway go back two years when we were trying to get rid of Benji - it was definitely all his fault!

I tend to remember Robbie trying to run the blind v the Warriors and then throwing a hail mary to Benji and then Benji decides to have another brain snap

Good Leaders lead by example not take the wrong option at the most crucial times
Perhaps - but together still produced some of the most exciting and enjoyable games of footy I have ever watched. Certainly they helped win a premiership not sure either can be held responsible for losing one. May get to see them play together again next year except wearing the red V - who would have thought??

Again and look what we got from winning that premiership

A false believe that attacking football is all the rage and as long as you can outscore the opposition everything will be alright

Even when Sheens tried to coach this side to grind they wouldn't , even when we bought a side to win off their defence they ignored it

And then we paid the price

I honestly just can't believe how wrong we have got all this ,despite every warning from every person with some league common sense

Am I the only one that cringes when I read that quote from JT ?

A very bizarre thing to say, i agree. Makes me cringe too Crusader.
A bit like " Results don't matter " :crazy He's a strange one, our JT.

The Cowboys have sailed pretty close to the wind for a good part of the season playing exactly that style of footy. If you have got great attacking players like they do cant see any problem playing to your strengths - but that dosnt mean that the attitude toward defence needs to become any less important. Not sure how you conclude that the performance of these current players can be attributed to what was happening in 2005 when they have a totally different coaching team, and the only two players that remain from that time are Farah and Halatau - who are probably two of our better defensive players. I think everyone agrees about improving our defence, but not to the detriment of our attack. And maybe the cold hard truth is that we just dont have the depth in our club at the moment to match it for eighty minutes week in and week out with some of the other clubs. So to me, sacking Farah for no monetary gain only weakens our squad further. strengthens some one else's and unnecessarily causes instability at a time when we really dont need it.
I realise you have a different view - nothing personal - respectfully, just see it differently.

😱pen_mouth: They haven't changed their mind….re-affirmed the Clubs decision is all.... :unamused:

#150...take a bow...

Absolute codswallop Geo

The club has taken a step backwards and left Taylor out to dry to try and win a popularity battle with the press and the fans

Utterly disgraceful

Sooo. The CEO that's been in the place for 5 minutes is going to overide and interfere with football operation decisions as his first call and the board that just appointed him are going to agree …....having endorsed the original decision....Okay Happy....

Farah will be playing elsewhere in 2016....

Loved all the support for the coach in his comments , but let Wobbie know its OK to stay if he wants

If he back peddles anymore Geo he will end up in FT's swimming pool :brick:

All Pascoe has effectively stated was that Wests won't breach the contract.

Actually, if you can out score the opposition, I've never seen the time where it wasn't alright

Yes but as we saw again and again in 10 years since it doesn't work eventually you have a bad in attack and then you have to defend the limited points you scored

Plus we finally won a premiership because of our defence , not our attack

Agree Happy. I'm tired of hearing this "we're a club bred on attack", says who? This is a whole new generation of players who are a long way behind the Marshall, Farah and co of 05\. Nowhere is it written that we have to play a certain style. Especially if that style has failed us more than it's given us success. Telltails above used the Cowboys as an example. Playing that style helps when you have a future immortal in your side, then also have had guys like Matt Bowen.

But the Cowboys will at some stage will have to still defend their way to the premiership

If they try and outscore the Broncos , the Broncos will just soak up all the pressure like Week 1 of the semis

And the same goes for tonight , the Cowboys won't score 40 tonight they will have to close Smith Cronk and Munster down to win this game

I think I said you play to your strengths if you have great attacking footballers not placing any less attention on your defence. Im not sure anyone is trying to emulate 2005 - different squad - at the same time I will always admire what that team achieved. I just would like our current players to play to the best of their ability in both defence and attack for a full eighty minutes.

And who says an all out attacking style is our strength? its failed more than double the amount of times its succeeded. We don't have to go down the road JT took us down in the first half of the yr, there can be a middle ground.

Seriously FT and Geo

Where will he go ??

Geo's off in Never Never land with Peter Pan and the rest of his fairy mates

No one wants to pay the price tag, which is why he'll stay. Sure Robbie will paint it as he never wanted to leave anyway, but you can't tell me his germ of a manager didn't shop him around. Wasn't doing his job if he didn't.

This has been a disaster for the club and Taylor has been comprehensively outmanoeuvred. It is highly embarrassing and we are yet to witness the fallout that will follow. I am not just speaking of how the club will view Taylor's handling of this but how it impacts on Taylor's standing within the playing group.

Our Club deep down want him out of here at all costs I reckon, they just never expected the Circus that has occurred in the media…..hence why Pascoe is being Professional in the media until a Conclusion is achieved behind closed doors.
By Pascoe quoting that his free to negotiate with other Clubs but at the same time saying that his contract will be honoured and then going on to say that the ball is in Farah's court? Well that suggest to me that the Club is willing to pay the bulk of his Contract at another Club.....if it means him getting out of here.

The wheels are in motion, they both can't be here next year
After all the commotion we have had over this subject for both to be here next year ? The media will absolutely swallow us up. The Board and the Coaching staff don't need any further embarrassment to this whole saga.

They have to be grown Men set there Emotions aside and have a peaceful resolution in what's the best interest for the Club moving forward, I have my doubts this will occur though.
Pascoe would be fully aware of the damage done and they have had 100's of complaints from fans over this.

I believe there is to much pride at stake over this.

Agree with the above statement. I also think it hasn't been good for Marina either. Her comments intimating that Robbie wasn't part of a winning culture were an attempt to support Taylor but just added fuel to the fire regarding dysfunction.

I don't think Pascoe has achieved anything yet in resolving this situation. His comments this week were just a method of crisis management to take the heat and media glare off the situation.

I think Robbie will be here in 2016 playing NRL and origin.I doubt he will be here in 2017 though.

As for Taylor - his future will lie with how the other players respond to him. I too question if he'll be here in 2017 either.

Where is Farah going to go? If there was a club interested he'd be already gone.
