Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

Adding this to the Taupau situation where he seems to be looking for an out i get the feeling the board is doing what it should have done last year and backing the coach not the players. Just a gut feeling.

On a purely performance level this is absolutely right.
But it would be good if he finished his career here as a one club man and given he is an international, premiership winner, played with both Wests and Balmain junior clubs and was a tireless worker for keeping the squad together which started to unravel once Benji left that would be ideal.

But looks like no.

They may as well get rid of Lawrence, Halatau, Sironen, and either Brooks or Moses and start again.

Funny how once Marshal left it set off a chain reaction where we have gone from glamour club to scrap.

32 next yr, and his best days well and truly behind him. There's a lot more upside than downside in letting him loose. Take out the sentimental factor and its a no brainer.

This well and truely shows that the the club really is making the hard decisions now.

No more talk, they are acting. I like.

It's all good and well to release the players that we have. But what sort of side are we going to have next year without bringing anyone else in?

I saw this rumour pre lunch today but didn't mention it because I thought it was impossible… Souths was the tip.

Yep his Bro is the physio there and he wants to play for a winning team….

Disgraceful decision letting Robbie go imo. Has been the heart and soul of the club for years. We will be fielding a team of Kindergarten kids the next couple of years :crazy

Looks like we are doing a Panthers. Getting rid of all our best players and starting again. I understand why they are doing this but it really pisses me off.

What the hell is the plan for next year? Who is going to captain our club and who is going to play 9? We are constantly shedding our best players and signing nobody.

Our previous management have completely ruined this club.

the real question is who takes him??
titans maybe or $ouff$??

Even Manly. They've already told Matt Ballin to look elsewhere.

Maybe he'll try his luck at the NFL too?

i think this is the best going forward. but how this club has stuff our football team.
I will say it again and again u cannot get rid of all ur senior players and play kids they need to have hard heads to show them the way. are club has thrown this crop of kids to the wolfs and when all there contracts come due again we will be in the same position we are in now, having to pay overs to keep them and unable to purchase any other talent, THIS WILL NOT HEAL ITS SELF IN THE NEXT 2-3 YEARS.

Massive respect for robbie and the way he has carried the club on his back for years and years but something has gone wrong at the tigers for Robbie. He hasnt looked happy for a long time now and his form has been on the decline since the injury to the elbow last year. Probably the best move for the club and robbie tbh and it gives cherrington a chance to shine. Good luck to him, hope he is treated with the respect he deserves and has earned. He will be back at the club in some way post retirement I am sure of it, hes a tiger for life and loves the club.

manly signs Api from panthers

id be happy if him going means signing a bunch of solid 1st graders

I think I would have liked to see Robbie go out on his own terms, or at least the club allow it to look like he has.

$1,000,000 a season buys you Thurston or Inglis.

I don't think Farah is worth that much to our team. Good player, but ever since Ricky said he wasn't an Origin style hooker, he focused on making 50 tackles a game and put the attacking side of his game away.

We could buy Fensom on much less to do that.

The reality is that he only has a couple more years left, so not a big loss for our future. He may as well go now when we need to free up the cap space and give us a fighting chance of making a few signings and bouncing off the bottom of the ladder.
