Fitting that someone with Woods personality would be the one to lead us as it reflects the clowns in the front office. There's no one more deserving in the entire team to take over than Lawrence in regards to how he carries himself on and off the field. But I guess you have to appease the folk who see Woods and say "that Woodsy is a knockabout bloke with his wild hair and bushy beard"
To clarify, I'm not upset that Woods was given the nod as much as I am disappointed for Lawrence being overlooked. The guy has paid his dues. He was the next in line till he was nearly crippled. He's sacrificed a lot for this club and really turned a corner this yr form wise, not to mention is a professional in every sense of the word. Very disappointing.
I agree GNR, but the captaincy may eliminate that 'class clown' attitude out of him. Either way, Farah not being captain Is s good move.
I agree with the second part. As for the first, we'll see, I'd like to hope so. Not sure how much respect he'd command from referees with his current personality. To sum it up, appointIng Woods is a PR move, nothing more imo. The evidence of that was when he was appointed captain for a Leichhardt game due to his "2041" rap. But the next week when they were at ANZ, Halatau was given the nod.
