Haha, unlikely. The club are playing the game now and are not releasing him for what they don't believe is adequate remuneration from another club. They'd all but committed to having him on in 2016 so they'll hang on to him unless someone is prepared to pay a large part of the fare.

This is the worst move Farah could have made.

You've got to be kidding, Farah can't lose in this, no matter where he goes he will still be getting his money and his Soo spot, as well as a good chance of a premiership, if he goes to the Roosters

Actually, he won't be going anywhere unless they work out a reasonable separation figure.

He still doesn't loose

Yeah he does, he doesn't stay on with the club he wanted to. All the crap that was resultant of him being offered a release has only served to damage both his and the clubs reputations.

Good luck to him, in a few years time we'll have forgotten about this and his legacy will be remembered the way it should be.

Its all smoke and mirrors to absolve themselves of paying as minimal amount of his contract as they have to. Robbie and his camp have been playing games for months and the club have sat back and bide their time. Now its their turn, and it seems like a very clever ploy.

Even if they didn't have to pay him a cent because he's asking for a release, wouldn't his salary be included in the cap anyway?

I would think that only amounts that were owed in previous years and not paid at the time to alleviate salary cap pressure would be assessed.

What about the latest rumour doing the rounds from the telecrap

Farah offered an extended deal after his contract is up.
Brooks and Moses are being shopped around.
The Journo who has broken the story is Hooper.

Farah offered an extended contract from us?

Daily telegraph is reporting that Pascoe is offering a Rob a new 4 year deal. The gloves have surely come off now.. Must be some legal smokescreen..

Robbie Farah asks WestsTigers for release

TWO months after under-pressure Tigers coach Jason Taylor attempted to punt Robbie Farah out of the club’s Concord headquarters, new CEO Justin Pascoe has offered the Tigers hooker a four-year contract for life after football.

Under Pascoe’s proposal, Farah would remain a Wests Tiger for life, finishing his career in the black, white and orange before stepping into an ambassadorial role when he stops playing in the NRL.

The Tigers have now been forced into attempting to perform an embarrassing 11th hour backflip in relation to Farah, who has now officially requested a release from the club.

The embarrassing backflip comes after the club attempted to spin the idea that Farah was hugely unpopular, bad for the club’s culture and holding the Tigers back in terms of salary cap spending room.

Nothing could be further from the truth. On the back of the Farah fallout, rookie halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses are being shopped around to rival clubs as a package deal for 2017.

And young gun fullback and local junior James Tedesco is no guarantee to stay beyond his current contract after the way his great mate Farah has been treated.

Brooks and Moses have been granted until the middle of the year to inform the club whether they intend to remain at the Tigers in 2017, a ridiculous scenario.

Tigers legend Ben Elias blasted the club this week for the way it has handled this entire disaster, with fans in danger of turning away given the poor state of affairs.

Coach Taylor is clinging on to his job but is under increasing pressure amid continued talk of a restless playing group.

If the Tigers have a poor start to the season then on the back of the Farah mess, Martin Taupau demanding a release to Manly and other rumblings, Taylor will be the NRL coach most likely to be the first sacked in the new year.

I'm hearing the reason why Moses and Brooks asked for an extension is cause they want to know who will be the Coach….they obviously don't want to be Coached by him. Taylor is apparently a few losses away from being unemployed

That's right. The Rugby League really gets in the way of the entertainment at the Wests Tigers.

Maybe we are about to see the start of a new era with our CEO. I hope he can resolve this quickly and secure Farah, Moses, Brooks and Tedesco.

Wow tiger of Bankstown.

JT is an embarrassment to our Club, if this is to be believed? We are seriously a basket case.
11th hour backflip…...are you for real? :brick:

Tapau asking for a release, Moses and Brooks asking for extension before committing, Cmon a bit obvious where the problem lies. The Club are crapping themselves that it is a real possibility that Brooks and Moses will leave if JT remains and Tedesco will follow suit.
It will be denied cause it would want to be seen as he has the full support from the Board.

That's even more tenuous than most telegraph articles, but in the unlikely event it's true…. oh boy.

Jason Taylor’s Wests Tigers future questioned by Robbie Farah’s lawyer

Tigers reject Farah's bid for full payout
Robbie's meeting with Tigers powerbroker

The Robbie Farah-Jason Taylor situation has taken a nasty twist with the lawyer representing Farah publicly questioning whether the Tigers coach will keep his job. Julieanne Levick has been advising the NSW hooker in his ongoing battle with the Tigers. The former skipper has asked for a release from the club and wants the $400,000 that he is owed up front plus his full contract paid out.

In an email to this column Levick said: . "An entirely appropriate move by Farah in the face of an untenable situation under Jason Taylor," Levick wrote."Farah's no fool, he's in charge of his destiny and once again he's made a wise choice to back himself. "It's glaringly obvious that the club will suffer absent Farah and there is no doubt that Taylor will struggle in his attempt to steer the ship. I have every confidence that [Justin] Pascoe is a man of his word and he will pay Farah his full dues.
"All things considered, you really have to wonder how much longer Taylor has left at the club, it would be easy to get the feeling that Pascoe is hamstrung by the board."

Farah's manager, Sam Ayoub, explained the situation in an email. "Danny, as disappointing as this is, it must be remembered that it was initiated by the Wests Tigers, it was publicly driven by the Wests Tigers and is still being driven by the Wests Tigers," he wrote. "The only parties that I feel sorry are Robbie Farah and the fans because this has been brought upon them. "They have made it untenable but have publicly and directly committed to meeting all the financial obligations to Robbie. "Today's speculation about which clubs Robbie will or won't join is nothing but that. "We will deal with that side of things at the appropriate time but right now, there are other issues that need to be put to bed."

The issues at the club run far deeper than the Farah situation. Taylor doesn't know that the unconditional support that he thinks he has from Tigers officials is wavering. At the start of the year, he is a string of losses away from being a former coach of the Tigers. Let's put Farah to one side and start with the halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses. Make no mistake that Taylor wants them to be the focal point of his team – it's a significant part of the reason Farah was snubbed. The problem is that both players are questioning whether they have long-term futures at the club.

They want to know who the coach is going to be after the first few months of the season. It's why they decided to postpone an option worth $600,000 for 2017 that was ready to be taken up in January. The club will tell you a different story. When I first heard about the story, Tigers club boss Justin Pascoe set me straight. "We, in conjunction with their management, proposed to extend their option date," he texted. Fair enough, but I'll believe what I'm getting told. And when rival clubs say they are getting told that the halves are on the market that is significant, but there will be denials they are being shopped.Taylor also called me – he has had media restrictions placed on him in recent weeks – to explain his version and emphasise that it's wrong to think he is under pressure for his position. Point taken, and the board is making all the right noises. But there is enough underlying chatter to cast doubt on the situation.

He may not even get to see the new season if that is the case. And talk of the CEO offering Farah 4 year deals could add to that.

Ayoub has gone all out on the PR offensive
I half expect stories re: Farah helping old ladies across the road to break next.

Pascoe must have lined up Ivan Cleary.
If this article is true he has to know backflipping on Farah means parting ways with Taylor.
The situation is untenable and it looks like the reason Brooks and Moses have extended their option date.

I was just trying to put this up, thanks Newtown.

Very concerning read. There is a lot more than we are led to believe…...the reason JT has been very quiet, poor bugger his own players don't even want him.

Idk how many more teams we'll have to read this before the season starts. A couple of things, this illusion that somehow JT is 4 or 5 games away from the sack is delusional thinking. Why?, well there's a couple reasons

1\. Is the club really going to want to pay out half of Taylor's contract? Then on top of that, pay another coach? And i'm sure we'd be attracting quality coaches with our recent history of discarding coaches.

2\. Not sure why people who are saying he's only got a few games to prove himself can't understand that the Farah decision was obviously made jointly between the board and the coach. The club are backing the coach, not sure why people are in denial over this. They have to back him, they have no choice, they can't afford to sack every coach who comes in and is forced to shake things up to get the side he wants. He is safe for the first half of 2016, that you can take to the bank. It will be what players he can attract on the open market and how we finish the yr when his job evaluation will begin.

Danny Weidler  …I'll wait to hear from Buzz I think...

Really sounds like Ayoub thinks Farah bleeds Black and Gold with a little white...

You're clearly lapping up the spin. Things are not what they seem.

He's asked for a release, it's over. Doesn't matter how we got here, Farah asking for a release says that he's finally realized that the club is prepared to move on, and he's finally going to do the honourable thing and move on. 2 months too late, but better late than never. Now Farah doesn't want to be here. Clubs never knock back the release request of a player, because why have a player who doesn't want to be there? Especially a player who they've already been trying to move on for months before hand. Its obvious its a ploy from the club. Don't buy into it.

No illusion…..the cracks are starting to appear, make your own mind up on the situation. Just cause a board backs a Coach doesn't necessarily mean it was the correct decision. Farah is not worth the money that his getting at the moment....you won't get an argument from me but it would of been alot cheaper getting rid of Taylor than Farah.
I don't think Taylor is the right man for the job and have given my reasons why on this thread.

The truth in the whole saga will eventually be told.
