Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

And that is dependent upon him being a good club man. All the crap that has been thrown at him on this forum. It comes down to Pascoe and Farah. I like what Pascoe has done since coming into the CEO role. He has been attempting to rescue the club from Taylor.

Maybe they are going to get rid of Taylor, grant Robbie a release & then re-sign him as player coach, with the vast majority of his contarct being for coaching duties to free up room in the salary cap. After 3 seasons of ordinary results he will be working behind the scenes to get the coach (himself) sacked. Him and his manager can then try an negotiate a payout for the last year or 2 of his contract.

So the latest is that Pascoe has offered Farah a two year extension on his current contract so that Farah can be a one club player and Pascoe is confident that Farah & Taylor can work out their differences .
I give up .. I need a labotomy !

All I got out of that is Sammy shouldn't wear those shorts EVER…

And...the 4 year thing was the reporters words...more speculation nothing from the Club or Robbie....

See ya Robbie he doesn't want to be here

Wests Tigers boss Justin Pascoe has refused Robbie Farah's demand for a full payout but hopes the parties can move towards a release resolution at a landmark meeting on Sunday.

Farah's manager Sam Ayoub submitted a written request on Friday night for an immediate release and a full payout of the final two years of his contract, worth about $2million.

Pascoe, who is seeking an audience with Farah on Sunday, said he was surprised by the timing of the request given coach Jason Taylor had only days earlier indicated Farah was on track to start the season in first grade.
\
\
"Emphatically, if Robbie was the best hooker – in round one, two, three to 26 – in our organisation, he would be playing in that position in first grade," Pascoe said.

"We received an email last night asking for a release, but we haven't agreed to any terms. The timing is surprising.

"Robbie has been nothing other than professional for the two weeks that he's been back. He's been respectful through the whole process and my belief is that, as an organisation, we've been reciprocal to that. Until terms are agreeable, Robbie remains a contracted player and we expect him to see out all the obligations of that contract."

Pascoe, who shifted into the Wests Tigers hot seat nine weeks ago after a stint at Penrith, said the club would not accede to Ayoub's request to pay out Farah's contract.

"The position of the club is that we'll take on the best interests of the entire organisation and the members, so that won't be happening," he said. "We will entertain any terms that become favourable to the organisation.

"I've reached out to Robbie and asked to meet with him tomorrow. I'd like the opportunity to discuss with him in more detail how he is feeling since this request has come through.

"It's important for me, in any exit interview in any employer-employee relationship, you want to understand why someone wants to exit. It's important for me in my role to get all the facts and get a complete understanding of why he wants to exit."

Farah, 31, who has attracted interest from the Roosters, has been in a tense stand-off with the club since Taylor revealed the NSW rake was not in his long-term plans.

Up until Friday, he had dug in his heels, despite the fact the club had signed Manly's Matt Ballin, who is battling to recover from an ACL injury in time to be fit for the opening round.

Pascoe was adamant Farah and Taylor were capable of putting aside their differences for the good of the team.

"It was certainly my belief that could happen," he said. "We were putting as much support and framework around that to support that."

That included consultant Shane McCurry, a coach and facilitator who had worked with a number of organisations including the AFL and North Melbourne Football Club.

"It's adding another string to the bow, we thought an independent person at this stage was a valuable asset," Pascoe said.

"Having someone of his skill set, capability and experience come to our organisation – which is a very young group across the playing staff, board level, coaching, management and administration – is an investment. He will bring some real value, leadership, culture and innovation in that space."

There is likely to be a period of wrangling between the Tigers and Farah over his payout figure. But given pre-season training is now well under way – and the saga has dragged on for months – both parties will be hoping for a speedy resolution.

I find it a bit weird that Pascoe needs to have a meeting with Robbie , to find out why he wants to leave. I know he came in here halfway rough all of this.
But does really not know why Farah would want to leave ??

Farahs been saying for months he is staying.
Now he's changed his mind.
It's not that difficult.
Pascoes doing his job… But keep kicking

This can be all sorted out amicably if the parties are prepared to be FAIR.

The Tigers should have handled this better from the start but Farah IMO has done everything he could to play the VICTIM.

The way Farah played in 2015 you can't say he is worth a $1M a year player. I think management had the right to say to him…..."for the money you are on we expect much much more from you."

No-one likes being told "your not wanted" but sometimes the truth is difficult to hear. When Benji left the club he had already been a shadow of the player he once was. He was overweight, lazy and looked like he never got out of 1st or 2nd gear. And to confirm that NZ rugby quickly told him he was free to go elsewhere as well. The result....he signed a 2.5 year contract with the dragons for about $700k in total ( thats about $300k a year ) so his so called true market value was quickly found out. ( remember he walked out on the Tigers $700k a year x 3 year deal ).....his management can only be compared to the george costanza NBC deal...."holding out for less".

Anyway whatever happens here happens.......if brooks and moses are silly enough to go elsewhere.....then go, for $600k a year we can buy plenty of proven playmakers.

Fancy at 21 years of age players already dictating to the club who they will and wont play for.

Agree with most of what you say.

However Brooks and Moses have not said anything about leaving to my knowledge.
Let's wait and see what they say before everyone on here starts crucifying them as well.

I thought you'd already had one

But on a serious note, what the hell is going on here???? If we can believe any of the stuff being printed recently, first the club desperately wants Farah to go and JT does everything he can to get rid of him, then JT says all is good now and Robbie is training well, they have buried the hatchet and are looking forward to working together next season. Just a few days later, we now have Farah throwing down the gauntlet and wanting to leave, then we have our CEO saying no Robbie don't go! Stay for another 4 years, no - stay for life!!! WHAT THE?

Then, to top it all off, we have reports that Brooks and Moses are now being shopped around by the club and that they don't get along with Taylor :crazy !!! Weren't these the two guys the Wests Tigers were supposed to be building their future around? Have I missed something here, or has JT got a ready made five eighth/half combination floating around in his back pocket somewhere - I'm stuffed if I know.

All I know is that whatever the outcome of all this mess - whether Farah stays or goes, whether Taylor stays or goes or whether Brooks & Moses stay or go - we are already well and truly rooted for next season.

Despite all the positive spin that we will no doubt hear from the club with future headlines like 'the off field dramas won't have any effect on the team, we'll be focusing on playing good footy and making the 8 blah blah', they _will_ be affected and our season will suffer - you can bet your house on it.

If Farah ends up having to go, Brooks, Moses, Tedesco & co will not be happy - they all went on holidays together for crying out loud! If he stays, JT and the board won't be happy. If JT goes, we will have to start all over again from scratch with a new coach.

Whichever way you look at it, it does not bode well for a good season next year. No one's head is gonna be in it, hell my head isn't even in it! The damage is already done, so I reckon we may as well all bend over and kiss our next season so long, farewell, see ya later, sayonara, arrivederci, aufweidersen, see ya when ya bum cracks and goodbye!

Didn't know that I had to
Cleary has done ok with the Panthers considering the injuries that they've had over the seasons
Taylor doesn't have injuries as an excuse he had a much better run with injuries than Potter did. And can you remind me where was it where we finished this season …0h that right....equal last

Hope the Knights don't improve next year.
