Contrary to a few people on these forums, i am a fan of Beau Ryan. I think he is a safe option, and a good finisher.

Im with you!
He gets the job done.

Tigersnumberone, Lets start the BWO - Beau World Order!

I'm with you guys , Beau goes alright !! Can sniff out a try, great support player and a reasonably good defender.

no one in first grade .unless we promote mullaney. but my sparing partners in WILLOW and SMEG inform me he's not ready?

No sparring here mate. Based on what I've seen, young Mullaney just isn't ready for the step up yet. He's got talent - there's no doubting that, but at the moment he's not physically ready for first grade and would be better served in State Cup and learning to handle himself there.

Sheens once stated Moltz is a good half but could be a great fullback. IMO I would have him at half but I am willing to give Lui time as I think he could be a perfect partner for Farah in attack while Moltzen and benji form another great attacking combo with Moltz chiming in from the back. But that said I am yet to see it happen, IMHO Im not sold on Moltzen at Fullback but I think Sheens may be onto something by persisting with Moltz at fullback, Sheens and co must see something we dont or haven't yet so I am willing to wait and see and just be happy the season is about to start.

I've always thought the opposite to be true…Moltzen is a good fullback (or could be) but could be a great halfback.

I have seen nothing in all the time watching him to make me believe what sheens thinks. Of course i'm just a punter like the rest of us and i keep thinking he must see something i don't.

Someone enlighten me

Sheens loves having a fullback who can ball play and chime in with the attacking line. This is why he fancies Moltzen as a fullback.

Would have to agree Icon. I think Moltzen is a great talent but he doesn't seem like a natural fullback. That said the games I saw him play for BRET, it was Lazarus who was the organiser and Moltzen the flair at 5/8\. (and to be honest, back then, it was Lazarus who really impressed and not Moltzen). Perhaps, like Lockyer, he will grow into being a fullback - but without Tui to hand the ball to coming back I dread kick returns…

im confident it will look like this

1.moltzen
2.tuqiri/brown
3.lawrence
4.ayshford
5.ryan
6.marshall
7.lui
8.gibbs
9.farah
10.galloway
11.ellis
12.fulton
13.heinington
14.cayless
15.moors
16.payten
17.fitzhenry

To be honest i was excited about our recruitment in the off season but to me it looks like the same side that we ve had over the last year and a half.I am hoping taumata is used in the first 6 weeks even off the bench as a craig wing sort of player he could cover any injury in the back line better then fitzy and daniella.

Hmmm…I think you could be onto something here....In fact...I think Sheensy is building a backline of 5/8th's...Benji 5/8th, Lui 5/8th, Moltzen 5/8th, Ayshford (junior 5/8th)...and finally who'll ever forget.....Lawrence to 5/8th......

It's disturbing.......

Think your on the money,
although I would rather see Fafita instead of Moors and Arana (if I had to put a back on the bench) instead of fizhenry.

All of a sudden this ''awesome recruitment'' weve seen this season, is maybe looking a little thin

Early days I know….but its one thing I do agree with bug on, people are confusing quantity and quality in this regard.

All of a sudden!!! Where have people been??? Our recruitment has been absolutely rubbish as stated by those who have a clue a long long time ago. We bought B Grade backs who cant crack it in lesser teams. Waste of money assuming we spent something for them.

Really hoping Cayless and Lote come good. They are our only chances at decent signings.

Moors will be handy, plus we've rid ourselves of players like Payne, Morris, Halatau and Collis. With these players gone it means that the ball will have to go through the hands of the Moltzens and Ayshfords.

Well you can pencil in Lote.

I think it will look like this.

Moltzen
Ryan
Ashford
Lawrence
Tuqiri
Marshall
Lui
Galloway
Farah
Gibbs
Ellis
Heightington
Fulton

Cayless
Moors
Payten
t.sheens pet

Barring any training mishaps the team will be as follows

1–-moltzen
2----Fitzhenry
3---aysford
4---lawrence
5---ryan
6--marshall
7--lui
8--gibbs
9--farah
10-galloway
11-ellis
12-fulton
13--rhino
14--lotte
15--payten
16-cayles
17-moores

Dont completely agree but that will be the team, Lotte will interchange with Fitzy after the first 20 minutes and maybe Fulton and Rhino will swap around but Iam sure that will be the 17 Sheens comes up with. Sheens will not be taking too many risks at this stage of the season

This is what i think Sheens will go for… and to be honest... I would too

1\. Brown
14\. Tiquiri
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Ryan
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Gibbs
11\. Ellis
12\. Heighno
13\. Fulton
------------
2\. Fitzhenry
15\. Cayless
16\. Moors
17\. Payten

I think Sheens will name Fitzy in the first 13, but Lote will run out on Lawrence's side, keeping a strong hard running big bloke outside him and keeping Ayshford and Ryan together.

Fitzy will be there to backup Lote and will eventually drop out of the squad i would imagine.

Despite Lui killing it in the halves by all accounts... It was against the Sharks and I probably could have looked like a superstar aqgainst them. Brown will eventually leave FB for Lote... but it seems silly to me to shuffle around the halves, fullback and a wing position when you can get stability in the halves from the get go and just shuffle the Fullback and a winger.... Moltzen will start half...

UP THE TIGERS!!!

There is no way Lote will be on the bench.

And honestly, if Sheens picks Fitzhenry on the bench…we don't need him on the bench, if any injury strikes one of the backs or halves, Fulton can fill in there. It's just a waste of a bench spot.

Completely agree dude… but I think while Lote is on wing... Fitzhenry will be there. When he moves to FB... he will be shafted to Balmain-Ryde
