I've got to admit i dont care about the round one team as much as a round one victory whatever team it may be.

You can only play the opposition in front of you. The Sharks may be an ordinary side but they still have some decent forwards who can make a tough hit on a young half. It sounds like Lui handled that with aplomb.
Which other NRL club is going to start the season with halves that they don't expect to be threr for the majority of the season?…Manly maybe...
Sheens has stated he doesn't want to rush Lui...so I'm expecting he will start the season and then go back to the 20's or State Cup just as he did with Moltzen in '08....
I don't see the logic especially in the crucial halves positions..where stability is key...
I can also see why Sheens will go down that path...it's a risk...IMO...
As I said, I dont disgaree with that. There are legitimate reasons why Lui should not be picked. Downplaying his performance against the Sharks, in my view, is not one of them if the person you are going to pick is Moltzen (who pkayed in the same and from what I have heard didnt really perform).
This actually comes back to one of my problems with Tim in the 7, his inability to organise and dominate a game. Like Lui, he is not a natural 7 and for this reason I am not a confident as others that he is a long term solution here.
@king sirro said:Hard considering i didnt see the Sharks trial, but i did see the Roosters game, and the reports on the Sharks game were good, so:
1.Moltzen
2.Tuqiri
3.Ayshford
4.Lawrence'
5.Ryan
6.Marshall
7.Lui would need to really perform to retain his spot
13.Fulton
12.Mataka
11.Ellis
10.Gibbs
9\. Farah
8\. Galloway
14.Cayless
15.Payten
16.Moors
17.Heighington

@simonthetiger said:Mataka in front of the Rhino….....right.
Shame you didnt see his last game,he scored two tries, ran hard all day and tackled his ring off.

@Danos said:Lui touched the ball a lot against the Roosters, for better or worse he seemed more involved than Moltzen ever did in any of his 5 games at halfback.
@king sirro said:Your point about Moltzen is right. The thing with Tim is that i actually think with an organising half inside him, he'd be the best 5/8 this club has. Now im not saying he's a better player than Benji, just that with the right halfback, he'd be a better 5/8 than Benji. Should i start ducking?

Moltzen is a better organiser than Lui ….IMO
Thing is though in OUR team Robbie and Benji Run the Show....Farah does most of the organising from dummy half for the first 4 shifting to the right of the field....then It's the Benji show down the left....That's been Sheens go since '07...
Unless you got Kimmorely or Thurstan as our halfback I can't see anyone in our roster that will dominate these two no matter what Number is on there back...
I think an X Factor could be Fulton ....know your not a fan... but he Attacks well down the right of the field..I see points in Farah/Fulton down that edge....
