Fair enough, the structure of his contract makes things a little murky. My point though is that he doesn’t really have any leverage. I think that’s good for us, I’d like him to stay on a value contract. We don’t seem too desperate to retain him - the club has shown we’re already actively seeking other options. I don’t see how Brooks would have any bargaining power here.

On the contrary I think he's got a lot of leverage. What are our replacement options for half-back if he goes?

The play the ball was awful all night. Obvious tactic from the raiders to push the boundaries with holding down at the ruck. I can’t believe it took 68mins for them to get a man in the bin. Completely stifled our attack.

Api to halfback. Wakeham to 6 and that kid who nearly played today and Simpkin to share the 9 jersey. Maybe Doueihi comes good as well.

To be honest, I saw something but thought Brooks stopped and pivoted.
He stopped, but held his line. Certain penalty missed.

Meh. I'd like to have won but we may as well lose games like that this year rather than next. Overall they played okay and deserved to win. Conceding twice from kicks hurts in a tight game.

Looked like a carbon copy of the dogs game. Long spells of decent play punctuated by disastrous errors then a flurry of points. Couldn't push it on at 19-18.

Let's get some perspective, we totally won a game like that just a few weeks ago against Dragons.

You usually win 50%, just that fans have short memories.

We’d work something out, might be a shuffle, maybe AD will be just beyond the horizon of return at that stage, another option may become available on the market. I’m not saying we’re going to completely lowball him, but I don’t think we’ll be needing to pay overs.
