That was a great game. And we're on telly next week too, great stuff!

Groat was deserved MOM

That send off was a disgraceful hit (though he was falling)

Surely Groat is better than Spence….seriously... I will be watching Mr Spence very closely tonight hopefully he gets past the 1st tackle this time.

Timing is everything when you are playing Reggies, and Spence got the points over Matt last week… Hopefully Matt can keep up the good work and his chance will come.

My thoughts:

1\. Sitaleki has tonnes of ability. Did a lot of hard yards today. Would love to be able to find a place for him in firsts.

2\. Groat was good. Made a lot of strong carries where he drove through the line. I have him ahead of Jack B on that performance.

3\. Hitchcox is a real goer. Not sure he has he physique for first grade in the modern game but he would have been a very good winger 15 years ago. Wouldn't look out of place in the NRL if we had injuries.

4\. Mr T was solid but didn't run with enough venom for mine. Not sure that he is quick enough to be a first grade winger.

5\. Luani, Fine and Farlow were all very strong and are the backbone of this side.

Just saw the replay of the send off incident. Gasnier telling everyone that its a contact sport and these things happen.

Ah, but THAT tackle is the very reason the ban on the shoulder charge is in place. There was no intent at all to tackle with the arm. Shoulder charge gone wrong - I hope Bullock is OK didn't look well.

Wests Tigers have defeated Auckland Vulcans in a thriller at Campbelltown stadium, 20 points to 18.

Auckland opened the scoring 4th minute through front rower Charlie Gubb, who burst through some weak defence to power under the posts. Pita Godinet converted for an early 6-0 lead.

Wests Tigers defended their line from repeated Vulcans pressure and were able to repel multiple sets of six before scoring with their first attacking chance.

Eddy Pettybourne ran a great line to the right of the posts to slice through off a Jack Madden short ball in the 15th minute.

Eddie Paea hit the posts with the conversion attempt to see Wests Tigers trail 6-4.

That was about as long as Pettybourne lasted, limping off with an ankle injury shortly after.

Wests Tigers thought they had another try shortly before halftime, but try scoring freak Taqele Naiyaravoro's cross was ruled out after a forward pass.

Auckland made Wests Tigers pay, replacement Salivi Havila scoring right on half time with Godinet making the score 12-4 going to the break.

Wests Tigers got the best possible start to the second half with a huge Eddie Paea cut out ball evading potential intercept to give winger Allan McGrath a free run to the line.

Paea kicked from the sideline to put Wests Tigers within two points, 12-10.

Wests Tigers were on the attack in the 53rd minute but halfback Jack Madden threw an intercept pass to see Pita Godinet race 90 metres to score. A conversion from under the posts gave Auckland an 18-10 lead.

With a quarter of the game remaining, Wests Tigers had a glut of possession on the line, but lacked spark in attack and looked unlikely to crack the Vulcan's defence.

The game was lacking in intensity until Agnatius Paasi hit a falling Michael Bullock with with a spectacular shoulder charge. The Vulcan was sent from the field, while Bullock was stretchered off.

Wests Tigers fired up and finally crossed the line through giant Naiyaravoro who athletically grounded in the corner.

Paea missed from the sideline leaving Auckland with an 18-14 advantage.

Auckland attempted to slow the game down, but were made to pay by Asipeli Fine who scooted from dummy half and stretched out to score.

Paea crucially missed his third conversion of the day to leave the scores tied up at 18-all with 3 minutes remaining.

A thrilling conclusion ensued, with Wests Tigers making a break down field. A retreating Sam Lousi tapped down a pass from an offside position and was sin binned.

Paea slotted the conversion to give Wests Tigers a thrilling 20-18 win.

Poor day for the Paasi family. One driving to the wrong ground and the other will surely be close to missing the remainder of the regular season.

The reff never really took control of the game

He did a lot of work vs the Vulcans but when he does a hit up doesn't hit the line with enough power.

What game were you watching? You are kidding. He had a great game both in defense and attack. Some people are hard to please.

Anyone else think Hitchcox should be in firsts if Tedesco is out?

He went okay yesterday but he's not a regular fullback. If he got some more game time there in the reggies maybe but I'd probably feel more comfortable with Meaney at this stage
