Nah, Gus definitely came after. I know that because I remember reading that one of the Panther officials, maybe the CEO at the time, had told Gus the club had no idea what to do cos they thought they had Sheens over the line. If you remember that far back, Sheens was all but gone, and only stayed after one last ditch attempt from us. I think Gus joined them to do them a favour. He then poached Cleary from the Warriors mid contract (Notice a pattern?) and the rest is history.

Fair enough. But the coaching contracting system was different back then. Cleary was set to start at Penrith in 2013 but Warriors weren’t having a bar of it and released him a year early.
