Richo won't have a problem punting anyone not performing. Richos big problem is convincing Luai, Taruva and any other prospective players getting Benji out is the best move, considering they signed to play for him.

The writing was on the wall in the Sharks first try, can’t remember his name but a shark ran about 20 m before he came to the defence, typical bad tigers not moving up in defence.
Heads have to roll here , either Benji can’t coach or the players aren’t putting in for him, Benji is not bigger than the club and has had two seasons now with poor results

Sure, but when you think about it, it’s politically untenable and an admission of defeat for those who vouched for him and he would resist being marched as a loser.

If he buys into a process that removes him, that will help soothe some of the player preciousness.

Agree totally, just think if Richo punts him without smoothing it over with the new guys coming first it just complicates things for next year. Imo he's got to go. This experiment of letting him, Robbie and heighno use the joint to play coach is an absolute joke. It's the lingering decision of an inept and incompetent boardroom that was dissolved after 2 decades of disasters.
This needs to be rectified asap by Richo. I'm hoping the reason noone heard anything about the England trip was cause he was there talking to prospective coaches, just in case.

I thought Benji's comment in the presser was a bad call by him. To say no one played well is a dangerous comment. I've been in games where I've lost by 50 but busted my arse all game and walked off feeling pretty proud of my effort. If the coach turned around and put me in the same bracket as the poor performers I'd be filthy. I'd actually struggle to play for the guy.

There were players that tried and hard and played well last night. He needs to acknowledge those and blast the ones who dogged it.

You make a good argument about the loss of talent. We seem to take a step forward and go backwards 2 or 3 steps.
In a recent presser Pole was asked if he had a club mentor or who he admired in the team, he mentioned Garner and Offahenguai.

100% agree with moving the ‘Benji Profile’ to a recruitment role.
Frankly it would actually be the perfect job for him.

We have no props. We effectively played without props last night.
Porter's a nice guy, but he hasn't got the body to compete. He's getting smashed.
Lobb is just terrible. He's slow off the mark, awkward, scared, uncomfortable, but hey he is tall and that's all that matters on here.

Agreed,, lobb may be a nice guy that can take a mark,, but that is the only attribute he brings to the table.. he is nowhere near the standard of a good NRL winger.. he cannot be picked again..klemmer is badly out of form.. needs a stint in reserve grade

Yes he does try hard. However surely that’s a minimum KPI for first grade.
He is very busy but doesn’t actually achieve much.
His play is all so predictable and bland and that’s because he hasn’t learned nuance and variation by coming through the grades properly.

You can't sack Benji. Luai, Turuva, Api have all signed or re-signed on the basis of him as coach. If we didn't have Luai you could probably think about it, but no way you recruit a top half on the back of Benji and then don't let Benji coach him. I think our best strategy would be to get a real hard arse disciplinarian in and let Benji be the mentor personal relations type coach above all that. But there's got to be someone pushing standards and that's not Benji.

What’s he going to teach Luai?
Is Luai the ONE player that Benji can actually coach to pull off what he used to pull off?
I agree with part of the rest of your statement though I think moving him to our vacant recruitment manager position would be a better use of resources; he already does one half of that role.

Yes and the same happy clappers will be on here talking shit about how well the squad is training and how fast they look and wow, you should see their muscles! They all look strong and raring to go…..blah blah bloody blah.
