TEAM LIST Round 2 Vs NQ Cowboys

Team List
The three quarters are reshuffled enough as it is playing non preferred sides a couple of them....handling is usually pretty poor early in the season too...and people want to muck around with the halves also?
Sure fire recipe for no one knowing what the hells going on in the red zone when we get there

Can already see our red zone being poor because they reshuffled the backline so now there’s no combinations.

if cowboys train for AD to play the 7 role and 50 minutes i he switches to the 13 the you have a very potent ball runner and someone who can ball play through the middle.
Madden comes on and plays 7 our attacking threat looks so different to what cowboys would have prepared for.
Good option to have
Just say the plan is to have Madden, Douehi and Luai all on the field at the same time as 6, 7 and 13.
From an attacking point of view why would we want Doueihi as the first receiver when he is such a lethal running threat slightly wide of the ruck and why would we want Madden as a 2nd receiver when our trial games demonstrated his quality to dig deep into the line and create /provide opportunities as the 1st receiver ?

If we are to be any chance this season, Benji has to be innovative and maybe this is it. Smaller ball-playing lock to come on after 25-30mins, running threat with leg speed, excellent passing game and also high energy in defence even though not of great size. If Latu has been earmarked for that role, Madden may best fit the profile to stand in for him as he rehabs.

Saturdays game does not have a curtain raiser yet Magpies KOE Cup is at Lidcombe that same day at 2pm preceded by SG Ball preceded by Harold Matt’s. Then Jersey Flegg is on next day Sunday at Leichhardt.
Why would you not have a curtain raiser for paying fans and provide those players with great experience playing in front of a packed house? What am I missing here?

Absolutely agree .. should be a big day at Leichhardt with all 4 games on,, I really don’t see why the club seems to miss all of these opportunities to showcase the entire club at home games on a big stage

As you know I do not believe HBG are as responsible for near as many things as many people make them out to be, but I’d say it’s highly likely this is one that points to them and it’s a big mistake.
It’s far better exposure for everyone involved including HBG to have out reserve grade team playing before our NRL team.

Yeah totally agree, it's a special day so have all the grades on.

But it stands out like dogs balls that Wests need to be on at Lidcombe in front of a few hundred people, I wonder who came up with that idea. FMD

Where will the HBG hierarchy be I wonder ... Lidcombe or Leichhardt???

Why did we sign Herbert to a top 30 deal if we don't trust him to fill in? At the end of the day he would cause the least disruptions. A rubbish signing.

He'd be at the bottom end of our squad and below Mak, Luke & Skelton in the pecking order atm. A month or so at Cup level will only help his timing & confidence if he's required at NRL level due to potential injuries. He obviously brings experience & leadership and fits in well with the culture. It's a long season and he will only improve as it goes on. A long cost squaddie who can fill gaps.

We could've given someone like Corey Allan who's actually played NRL recently the spot instead of wasting it on someone who hasn't played in 3 years. If we are requiring him to get up to speed in Cup a T&T deal would've been more sufficient.

They’re not going to be next to each other . Makasini has been training at left centre . And who knows where and how they’ve been training for 5 months . Ie. who has been with the 1sts team the majority of the time and on what edge.
They're literally named side by side (Hence the comment)
Carryannis also said they were training next to each other in the last few days.

A whole edge with less than a dozen games experience is going to be a target.
I wish them luck.

It is a recruitment fault issue when you lose 1 Player (Who's always up on blocks)
and the answer is to have 2 inexperienced Kids there.

Corey Allen is atrocious and was never a centre anyway
