LIVE GAME Round 25 vs. Sea Eagles

Live Game Discussion
Bold but why not ! Doesn’t a win change the narrative ?

PS. Are we still sacking Benji ?
I think Benji still needs assistance as realistically, we remain off the pace.

But we’ve got the mighty spoon bowl upon us and quite frankly I’m more enamoured with that prospect than the following finals!

The storm win it or whatever, Bellamy has another near stroke over a referee decision, who cares?!

Tedesco misses an easy tackle and so Penrith win 4 without Cleary, zzzzz.

The dogs do well, pass me the draino.

Avoiding the spoon, to me, it has a symbolic meaning, it’s critical and helps us get at least something tangibly positive out of the season. It’s good we have a chance.

Hopefully we put 50 on them!

Yes, I know, but thankfully it wasn’t enough!

it was a strange old game in many respects.

Starting to see some of the youngsters acclimatise to the big show, which was a good sign. Back up needed.

There was a comparison tonight on the abc about us v eels prospects next year.

Still not enough “green shoots” seen from us this year it was argued, but as the dust settles, I couldn’t quite agree. This is mainly because of the youth and inexperience of the side. It’s been a fair finish to the year so far. Winning games tends to change things.

We shouldn’t have beaten that Manly side, they weren’t on their game, but we still had to fight. I liked our resilience.

Seibs was generous in his praise of us. That was pretty professional and positive. He’s got some good thoughts in him.

Finally getting around to having a good look at the game. 3 disallowed tries, 1 held up and 2 forward passes, the scoreline flattered the Eagles in the first half. Plus it's unfair how good Turbo is, no Turbo and things would have been a lot worse for the Eagles. In the end we killed the Eagles top 4 chances 🙂

So many kids playing, 11 debutantes for the year, heaps of inexperience and spine changes throughout, but the side hasn't given up anywhere near as much as they have done in previous seasons.

11500 people at the ground too, pretty good given our position on the table. Hopefully it'll be a packed crowd at Campbelltown to see us hand off the spoon to the Eels.

I’ll be happy if we win by one !

I get people booing brooks but it's not at all the same as Moses, woods, Brasher, Morrison. We low balled him and he got a great contract from Manly. And then we sign the Fainus and Galvin is now playing 5/8 on a small contract with luai on the way. Brooks and Manly did us a massive favour. We should applaud them.
We didn't low ball him,

We offered him his worth.

I thought we needed to get rid of Brooksy long before we actually did.

I’d never boo Brooksy in the flesh despite seasons of frustration and watching his factory performances on $1m.

But he wasn’t the only under performer.

Suffice to say, I’m enjoying his career from a safe distance.

Sorry mate, owe you a huge apology.

Thought you said Tommy Talau, yes I’ve got the eye drops now.
Turbo is definitely a star player.
Was a bit confused by your reply but let it go. Talau has had a great year but he ain't no GOAT, just a good first grade.

Turbo is ridiculous when he's on song. If Mitchell ever manages to screw his head back on, Turbo and Latrell back in the centres in Origin could lead NSW to a clean sweep.

Apparently the attendance was 11,520.
It did feel like more
Overall fantastic effort to everyone who made it to the 8th Wonder especially on a Thursday

The crowd is always understated at LO for obvious financial reasons. Has been going on since my first attendance in the late sixties. We use to bet on the crowd figure every match at LO. Our estimate was always over the actual announcement. That is the official crowd not the actual crowd.

Not his fault for being paid oversz for 5 years. it was this F...ed organisation that did that. At least he remained loyal as opposed to the big 3 ?

I've thought for a while that this team reminds me of the Baby Broncos when they came last without a top quality 7 to guide the youngsters around. Poor old Sezer kept being suspended, which made it hard to form combinations.

Not sure WT can rise up the table as quickly as the Broncs, but they might at last be able to return to the glory days of ninth 😉

Side note ... Tommy Turbo might be the GOAT when he's fit and firing. He almost saved the game for Manly multiple times. Never seen a more destructive player with ball in hand.
Could be a chance if we sign some big forwards who are experienced and have a little mongrel.
