Can anyone explain for Manly's 2nd try why Faataape & Alaimalo came up in defence, held as the ball spread to their edge & then retreated so close to the tryline??? There was no way they were going to defend a try that way when the ball carrier has such forward momentum.

Must admit, when they go to a 16 - 0 lead, was thinking, this may be a bad score line.

It was simply a poor read. Can't blame Alaimalo he has to follow his inside man to keep "the line" otherwise they would just run in behind him. They shoudl have continued towards the ball carrier - it was an error that shold be picked up on the tape and worked on in preparation for Parra. It was clear last night just how much we don't need AD; he is a liability.

Faataape messed up , mistimed the jam , and got caught in no man’s land . Alaimalo followed because he’s supposed to . Tried to salvage it by retreating and sliding . Didn’t work . Just gave them a try .
I thought they learnt from that though . There wasn’t many breaks down thier side from then on .
In fact that attacking blitz at the end from manly was mainly down the other side because we had front rowers in edge spots and edge back rowers in the centre .
Losing Sezer and Alimalo was almost catastrophic. Especially with Turbo running at you with the speed to burn on his outside .
