Anyone else worried about the Titans winning their first game in a year next week??

happy_tiger..as they have a Top 4 pack..

You can hammer Mitchell all you want, but it will take abit of time for him to get used to playing fullback. Once he gets used to it, look out. He has changed position and changed his team so youd be crazy to think hes going to kill it straight away. His biggest fall has been talking about wanting to be a fullback too openly.

It goes beyond changing positions. It’s obvious he isn’t there mentally.

I'd say that's the case too. But once his head is right and if things start to click, he could be the best fullback in the game. It took Inglis a while to fit in after leaving the storm.

If you listen to those who know him, they all allude to the fact that he doesn’t work hard enough. To play fullback to his potential he needs to physically work extremely hard to get super fit and he needs to study the game heaps - put hours of video in, to learn the positional play and subtleties of fullback play. He does not have this commitment at this point imo.

Thought ref's weren't going to warn Teams... Klein just gave Roosters the tip

Sutton did it with Parra as well = warned Matterson to get out of the ruck quicker but didn't give 6 again.

Was never interested in paying him 1.? million to learn to play full back.

You pay that kind of money - they should hit the ground running.

Don't care what he does after he learns - it would have already cost you half a mil.

These new rules make it very hard for the team who’s behind to make a comeback. In all three games it’s been fairly even, one team gets a few calls and then they run away with it. Obviously the losing teams haven’t been good but we are yet to see a close contest unless Rabbitohs stage a comeback.

That doesn't bother me. Neither the broncs or the tits have a decent spine to get them back into a contest. Its getting back to footy.

Leads to less exciting footy if this keeps up. Personally not a fan of watching blowouts

I'm fine with it if it leads to bringing back more footy players and less 100kg robots with no skills just running lines.
I have no problem at all with skillful players running rough shot over guys that just happen to be athletic.

There’s never been more skill in footy than there is now. We’ve had some of the greatest playmakers of all time with the two ref system in place.

Not being rude or sarcastic mate but you're fairly young?

I am but I still know Thurston, Cronk, Smith are some of the best every playmakers we’ve seen. Obviously there’s been plenty of great playmakers in the past as well but the game has evolved a long way

and its evolving again - what goes around comes around. In the past fatigue was a big part in allowing the skillful players to ply their trade and show their skills. Now we are seeing fatigue back in the game the smaller faster players are having an impact rather than the skulking 110kg plus running at halves. Blowouts are an issue and if it continues we may see what another poster suggested in having the scoring side kick off to try and even out the contest.

I wouldnt have wanted to pay him that either. I'm just saying, he has the natural ability to be something special. Whether he has the mental/psychological ability is another question.

Klein pulls a marker not square penalty out his rear end after chooks offside for an hour

Yeah great hey

So why can't you use your captains challenge at a stop in play to challenge that .....

Took Robbo 2 games to work it out ...Parra seemed to be testing the 10 metres as well

This is what the linesman are supposed to be policing. every side so far has been off the line way to quick - some more than others - a few offside penalties from the linesmen will pull them back a bit.

3 games and only 1 penalty goal - quite amazing.

Didn’t think of that. My pet hate is always teams taking the 2. I suppose the 6 again keeps the game moving and limits that. Also eliminates players laying all over the ruck on the tryline. Another pet hate.

They may be seeing that as a bit of give and take. Allow a quick PTB but allow a smaller ten to combat it. The games have been quicker despite teams getting off the line quick.

If I were Souths I would be playing Trell at no6. Okay Walker will be back soon, but I think Trellcould be another Fitler at 6. Big strong hard with plenty of skill. As for no1, he will be a different player in a month, maybe not a million dollar player, but he will be a lot better than he is now

that is definitely the case but they do need to draw a line as to how much leeway. Parra exploited it to the max and when they weren't penalised they just kept going earlier.

The new style of rugby league has it's pros and cons , I guess it comes down to what's more important

Getting rid of the wrestle , speeding up the game ...great

The blowouts , increased dummy half running , the parity between the best and worst increasing.... not so great

More pros than cons at this stage. It is only early so it's a small sample. The average person on the street had really had enough of the game the way it was going, so something had to give.
