I hope the fortitude continues as it's long overdue. That said, so is the use of the five minutes in the bin.
Just switched on. Fatty is blowing up, so they must be doing something right.
Anyway, I agree with you, hope they see it through too, even if the footy is ugly. From the little bit I saw, and the rest of the games this year this is what it will take to stop the game being dominated by the same tactics we've blown up about for years. What is the point of rules when the same things go unpunished time after time until it suits the refs, like against us last week. I'd rather see every infringement penalised and no more chummy behaviour between refs and players.
Commentators aren’t helping tho, getting stuck into the refs

I take it you don't watch Rugby League for the entertainment value then…
I want to see free flowing games and the way we get that is if the players adhere to the rules. Everyone complained that the ruck was a mess and the play the ball was being slowed down too much. Now the refs are cleaning up the ruck and the ten minutes to allow the players to have time and room but people want to blame the refs not the players. The refs would be out there telling them when they can move so the players need to listen to him.

That would be all well and good if that's all they were policing, but they appear to just be nit picking every little move the teams make! No one can do anything without the bloody whistle going off.
Do you really think Lewis should've been binned because Billy ran into his hand and fell over? That game tonight was a pathetic spectacle purely because the refs cruelled it by going over the top.
@ said:Watch what happens now. Melbourne will whinge incessantly about this and next week they’ll stand offside all game and get away with it. OR the NRL can stick to its guns and enforce the rules.

Refs will stick to their guns. Once you’ve gone this strong on something you look foolish backing down.
