LIVE GAME Round 7 vs Eels

Live Game Discussion
99% of the time, you release a statement like that when it is clear that the player is being released from your club.
It was a premature statement there is no denying that.
As a fan are you any worse or better off knowing that Galvin isn’t sticking around for the long haul. This is in season, the clubs focus should be about winning the premiership this year not in 27 when Galvin leaves the club.
I expected better from Richo despite how but hurt felt from the management’s rejection.
He had to it release because he knew what was coming - a dairy of grievances directed at our coach so as to get Galvin out of his contract - hence the very clear message that we would not be releasing him.
As soon as Dylan Brown signed with Newcastle - Parra loaded and ready to go for the market for a 6. We know how it works with Moses we have been down this path before.

I think after our recruiting since last year that we can be competitive against IMO
12 teams in this Competition
WHEN
We have our best 17 available,
Which for me now will be Latu taking over at 5/8,
(Today we had 4 missing)
We are building a squad that I have mentioned before will take 2 more years before we can match all teams even if we get a few injuries.
Sure we lost today but those saying we looked like the 2024 team can’t be serious because this team is in every game I have watched this year.
I couldn’t have said that last year.
Sorry mate i disagree a little.. We played the team running last, with LOMAX out . Parra rebuilding also, and they looked stronger to me all over the park. Until LUAI gets a half back , and a bloody decent centre , i think results will decline and we will become inconsistent, and show a resemblance of last year. Injuries look like they are also going to be a major problem. More than happy if others on here tell me im wrong.

I don’t agree, we can let the media talk, what happened to we don’t discuss recruitment and retention in the public forum?

ugly viewing, no doubt about it, but it's how we respond next week that'll be telling.

definitely some concern on both sides of the ball but to me our spine were taken to school by one man who had the ball on a string all night.

like it or not, that was the difference, even in spite of Marshall's poor bench rotation, our errors, a lack of 50/50 calls and a lack of cohesion on our edges defensively.

a lot of soul searching to be done this week before our first trip to The Eighth, which couldn't have come at a better time.

Luai needs to stand up and take control of the team, not just direct them around but get his hands on the ball. Despite two try assists last night, Moses has played one game and had more try assists for the whole season than him so far. There were sets we were on their line and he dosnt even touch the ball.

With no Galvin there he needs to step up.
100%

I've expected alot more from Luai. Really takes a back seat in the game for us.
I really expected alot more from us yesterday. I expected way more from Luai.

I couldn't believe the reffing.

It was a devastating effort from the team for the fans after last week.
We got bullied after being called bullys.

When you talk the talk, you need to walk the walk.
Mitchell Moses stood up for the Eelscwith his mouth and his actions, we replied with a pop gun.

And that's what Richardson has done with other contracts. He is not dealing with an ethical business man and has a duty to protect the coach who this man has an issue with.
Should have waited until the bye round to even discuss the extension; would have been blown over quickly in the media with Galvin staying on for the next few years or swiftly moved on. The origin talk would of dominated the media.

I think we need to back Luai here, he came to be the general he should be the general. Would have kept him in the 7 jersey for mine.
What is lacking though is the support for him. We really need to get an experienced halves coach, ie a Andrew Johns or a Thurston to come or even Maloney his available to come in and teach Luai the subtleties in striking the ball, kicking in position etc. and Latu. Currently we have a group of halves that don’t have a strong focus on a kicking game. That will hurt us and Benji needs to spend this season to improve and build that for the long term.

Who collects a diary of grievances unless they want to enact them?
Do you honestly think he was prepared to let Galvin see out his contract when his nephew needs a partner and Parra have a shitload of money to spend?
This was going to happen no matter what happened this week next week.
Parra have released a player immediately and are ready to go.
We get screwed again or we meet him head on.

Has Brown been released? I thought he is still at the club until November this year. They looked fine in the halves yesterday…

Joe O gone and so has Shaun Lane and leaves options for Parramatta to take him now which they would in a heart beat.
I think the deal has been done in principle.
Gus has changed his stance from,
“If he is available we’ll consider it”
To
“In 5 years time when he is in his prime we might be in for him”
I wonder why he said in 5 years time knowing that he is officially on the market from November this year.

Gus seems to know stuff that he chooses to spread and keeps the stuff he doesn't want out there quiet.

We have a ton of issues but without doubt our biggest problem is our kicking game. We do not have a player in our club with a long defensive kicking game. Yesterday we lost the yardage game on every set. We could match Parra on our five tackles, but our end of set kicks were so much shorter then Parra’s. We desperately need a 6 or 7 that can belt a kick right down into the corners. Most teams have one if not two players with these skills.
