Correct me if I’m wrong but Benji said in the press conference that dropping Galvin was more about getting him out of the spotlight than a direct retaliation to him not staying at the Tigers. I think it’s important to remember that the media narrative is always going to be extreme given they need to use sensationalism to have people read their dribble. It’s likely that whatever is actually going on within the club and squad is a lot less controversial.
I don’t think this is embarrassing for the club at all. If Galvin performs, great. If he doesn’t, then Latu comes back into the side when fit. Ultimately, I didn’t think Doueihi played well at 7. I think it would be more embarrassing to stick with that option, cutting off our nose to spite our face so to speak.
