TEAM LIST Round 8 vs Sharks

Team List
Where is this beast that that everyone builds him up to be? I mean, he’s okay, but some talk him up like he’s Taupau circa 2014-15. He’s just a dude that provides a bit of punch off the bench. Doesn’t set the world alight.
He’s our only forward who really stresses the line and gets up quickly.

This is so embarrassing for the club and its management. Make a really gutsy move and drop one of our best players (which was well received by the fans and whole nrl community) just to come crawling back. Looks so spineless and just gives more fuel to the media. If this was the route we were going to take then shouldn’t have dropped him in the first place. Or at least say it’s was to give him time out of the spotlight I.e. turuva at panthers
I tend to agree with you but it’s an easy spin for the club. They will just say they stood him down last week to protect him from the backlash. Takes the heat out of these garbage bullying claims too.

Doesnt matter what they do....make a stance and maintain it, FOX and co will continue with the way theyve been last week....we win it'll go some way to quietening the noise.

How do we quieten it all?
we quieten the noise by being consistent and firm. Not by caving as soon as a legal threat( without substance) is made.

My feeling is maybe Benji underestimated the Eels .......
My thought is that Benji used the decision to rest Galvin as a way to promote Douiehi and celebrate his 100 games. Kinda as a change of tact, hoping the guys would get around the Douiehi selection at 7 and forget about not playing with their preferred 6.
The selection also had the benefit of getting a better look at Doueihi as a halves alternative and probably confirmed to the club that if they continue with their stance on keeping Galvin to his contract it’s no just about the politics of it, it’s to ensure they keep a bloody good halves option at the club for a very decently priced contract!

I'm fine with this team.

We really needed the W last week to show we didn't need Galvin, but the truth was the halves pairing was not up to it.

It would be better for all if Latu was available, but alas.

I dont think Galvin is the kind of person to tank a match, so it's not a Mitchell Moses type situation.

As Benji said last week, he picks the team he thinks is the best chance of the W and he doesn't have to explain himself to the media.

I also dont think it's weak as some fans said here. Coach made the point that he holds the power. If we really are going to hold Galvin for 18 more months we need to make the most of that for the club, and that includes playing Galvin if he's the best option.

If there is more nonsense from Galvin or his crew then you drop him again. Tigers wield all the power right now, Galvin can only agitate, but the past week has shown that agitation doesn't do his reputation or standing any good.

Reality was Galvin had to go as playing group did not want there, Douiehi's selection was just consequential to this.

I see what you mean there but I don’t think that’s the way it’ll generally be received. Especially after the reports about the team not wanting to play with him, no matter how true they might be, I think most fans and onlookers have formed an opinion on the situation already.

Matamua at 6 in cup lol
Yep, OMT, it is laughable - but not for playing 6. I never, ever saw him, as the pundits described him, as a "ball-playing lock". But I do remember that this kid was Peter Principled at a far greater pace than should have been done by a management team that ought to have known better. HM to NRL in a year wasn't it? Now, that is simply child abuse!

You quieten it down by one simple method….STFU.
Stop leaking to the media. If Moses does then you can let them hang themselves. I doubt there’s much substance in the bullying claims for reasons I posted yesterday. You can’t be treated like a king and bullied at the same time.
He is only getting a release if we receive substantial compensation.
There’s no need to keep responding.
