Toa and madden did tavana no favours and basically left him out to dry. 3 players we cant afford to have out are bula kpp and api. Hope tried, however was not bringing our forwards on to the ball.
I'd like to think that isn't the case.
Back to cup to develope.
Hopefully some good games ahead.
Its who you have injured that's the problem. Our right edge is usually AD, KPP, Toa, Turuva. Today it was Madden, Sukkar, Toa, Tavana. Sharks went there and won the game. Its a learning experience for Benji Shark Park on a Sunday thats what you will get. KPP is the reason it fell apart he covers everyone.

It’s like when we attacked Knights left edge and gave them a touch up, They had Best, Brown and Lucas all out on that edge.

I don't like to say it but the problems started with some of Benji's selections. Tavana had not done enough to deserve to be selected ahead of Skelton. Sure, he caught a few high balls in previous games and notched a couple of tries. However, he showed that he was totally ineffective taking it up from our end. Also, he was coming straight back in after 3 weeks off whereas Skelton had experience and recent game time on his side. Toa had been very ordinary in KOE Cup and didn't deserve to be selected over Herbert, who had been mainly solid in NRL. Then he left out Latu who could have relieved Hope and is a decent defender in a game where defense was going to be critical. There were a lot of poor performers this afternoon but Tavana and Toa were both shocking. I would send a firm message by dropping those 2 and Sione. Somebody else said this, but Benji should have removed Tavana, moved Lauliili to fullback, Turuva to the wing and brought Skelton on at half time. Amazingly, we were in the game and could have been in front with a bit of luck.
The really sad part of this heavy loss is that everything we'd done well all season - high completions, low errors, committed defense and strong forward play seemed to go out the window . Our credibility has take a major hit and Benji has a big job to reset the team, especially with all the injuries......

Can’t believe we didn’t ask for a exemption for KPP unless he was still having headaches, but the club never gives us supporters any info

No one is a candidate for origin.
Blaming Luai is silly here. There isn't much he or Madden could've possibly done with the weight of possession against us and the little errors. Even when we could've gotten some respite, the ref was there ready to give the Sharks the ball.
Hate to pile on the guy but Tavana's errors and defensive effort were killer.
Reflecting on To'a's performance some more, he made some questionable decisions and it does seem like he avoids contact, but Tavana made it look a lot worse by not committing when his inside man did. There's a couple of those tries down the right edge which probably don't get scored if Tavana follows To'a in.

I'm far more worried in games like the Souths or Brisbane ones where we're on the opponents line the entire game and he does nothing but stifle the attack.
What is he meant to do when we make 200m in the second half and they make over 1000m.
Bad take we had no ball due to errors. The kid had a shocker Tino and the entire right edge was woeful. Sukkar was solid tbh.
Not being combative but he played edge yeah today. Def not his best for sure
The reason I mention it is every time we throw him on an edge I feel like he really struggles his been really good on the middle
On the back of errors from Tavana. That’s where we failed bad. Benji hooks him we have a chance, like Maka u need to know when their confidence is shot!

Grow up mate..he dropped some really difficult kicks under a lot of pressure ,,, with no help at all but he kept trying,,, game was done , Benji did what he felt best ,,, you can keep beating the issue to death but Toa didn’t even try to tackle players and did his best to avoid responsibility… played like a deadset cat
